"Great Changes to Make it feel safe to get your teeth cleaned during a Pandemic The process and procedures the implemented seem to keep everyone as safe as possible. Throughout these 5 months it's easy to tell who has done their best to abide by the guidelines and who is doing just enough to get by. They have gone above and beyond."
"This was my first dentist appointment since the beginning of the Covid-19 outbreak, and I was very impressed by Kanemaru's new policies. When they confirmed my appointment, they sent out a video that very clearly described what I needed to do when I arrived and showed all of the changes in the office to keep employees and patients safe. When I arrived, they moved me through the screening process and into the chair very quickly. I felt comfortable and safe the entire time. They always remember who I am and make me feel right at home. It's obvious how much they care."
"UPDATE: I went in for a previously scheduled follow up and Dr Kanemaru and MJ were AMAZING! Definitely overshadowed the horrible experience I had with the previous hygenist. They were very patient, thorough and explained everything throughout the procedure. This was the best filling I've ever received. Thank you for the amazing service and allowing me to experience the awesome service that all the patients rave about. I will definitely recommend anyone to come here (as long as they don't have to interact with Christa.. Christine). Previous Post: Absolutely horrible experience. The dental hygienist CHISTIA, CHIRISTINE or whatever her name is was extremely rude and impatient. As a medical professional with over 17 years of patient care experience if you can not effectively communicate your intent or needs to the patient you are in the wrong business. A simple question turned into the hygenist literally throwing her hands up at me and saying "she's done" (asking questions). Where does this type of professional etiquette take place....ONLY HERE in all of my dental experiences."
"Sometimes the chemistry just isn’t right. Regardless of the dentist’s talent, for a dentophobic, a positive relationship is crucial for overcoming my fear of the dentist. In my experience, the office staff seems impatient about dental fears and is unwilling to slow things down or provide emotional reassurance. Medicine is okay but I prefer to have a dentist who knows how to reassure me without it. Oh, and to people who need medicinal sedation for procedures: be sure if you dont fill your prescriptions to turn them back into the office. I didnt think I needed mine and threw them away. But because the practice could not verify whether it was filled or not, I was assumed to have a "problem" and denied any further medicinal assistance for procedures. Although I can understand their position, it would have been nice to be told this ahead of time so I knew to turn them back in. Oh well, you live and you learn. Thank you Kanemaru but it's time to move on."
"I was a patient for about a year. The rooms are cubicles so everyone in the next one over can hear everything you are saying. I had to go in for what was referred to by them as an emergency because I might have an infection in my gums. When I got there I was REFUSED service. The accountant would not let me see the doctor because I had to pay my last scheduled appointment in two payments and still owed the balance. The accountant said I would have to pay for the days services in full that day which would include x-rays even though I had no HDS insurance left. She made a big deal that my x-rays were way over due even though I had taken them 13 months ago. How is 13 months "way overdue"? Two weeks from now I will have my new HDS insurance to pay for new ones. She also scolded me for bringing my 2 year old. Of course that was not something I had done before but as my daughter could not attend daycare that day I had no choice. The accountant was uncaring to say the least and condescending. She also told me that it's not the patient who comes up with a payment plan since I had to split my last bill, that she is the one who does it. Basically what it came down to was the accountant was mad that I had taken it upon myself to split my bill so she was refusing me service. She also told me she would waive the cancellation fee since I had to reschedule even though I was being DENIED service by the accountant. Most of their customers are military. I work for a non-profit which offers services to people with developmental disabilities. The company offers no raises and the benefits are minimal. I shouldn't be treated so poorly because I don't make as much money. If it wasn't for this incident I would still be a customer but I don't like feeling that I'm less of a person because I don't make as much money as other people. It was a pretty embarrassing situation that I got to share with everyone within earshot."
