"This place needs significant improvement in their communication and customer service. Initially, they assured me that they would send a separate email with pick-up information for my belongings. Unfortunately, I never received this email, and when I reached out to them, they responded via text the next day, asking if I received their previous message, which I also never received. This pattern indicates a lack of reliability on their part. Moreover, when I requested a refund due to their failure to provide the necessary information for pick-up, they ignored my message for two days. When I followed up on that text, they dismissively pointed out that their address was on the invoice. While that information would have been helpful, I was explicitly told that I would receive a different email, so naturally, I was expecting that communication. It's frustrating that the only text from them I did not receive was the one with essential details. I decided to send another text to address the issue, but they have yet to respond. At this point, it seems like they are purposefully ignoring my concerns. Their business idea is intriguing, but their execution is lacking. If you are looking for a hassle-free and stress-free rental experience, I cannot recommend this place. They seriously need to work on their communication skills and customer support. Overall, they must improve their services significantly to earn positive recommendations from customers Edit to add: as expected, their horrendous customer service continues and they stopped responding to my inquiries."
"No aloha here, save yourself some frustration and do not use this business while your supposed to be vacationing. They claim to have a store that you can pick up from but there is no store. If you want to pick up/drop off you have to be there between 1-4 (which is not disclosed). When I called looking for the store I was told they didn’t know I was coming/they lost my invoice. I asked if they could deliver the swing I wanted for free since this was a big waste of my time and they informed me this “wasn’t their bad.” Really frustrating. Customer comes last model. The swing was of such low quality I could have easily bought one from target for the same or less cost and no hassle. Do yourself a favor and go with a different company or just buy what you need at target. My child didn’t even use the swing because it wasn’t what she was used to."
"This was my first experience renting equipment while on vacation and it couldn't have gone better. I was amazed by the vast selection of items available to rent. Prices were reasonable. I rented a crib & basket of indoor/outdoor toys for our 2.5 year old son. The crib was set up at our condo and the toys dropped off before we arrived which was super convenient. Aloha Kids coordinated with the condo manager for set up AND pick up and we didn't have to do anything. The crib & linens were very clean and in great condition. The toys were the best! Such a great variety of items and my son loved everything (the train set was his favorite!). I would definitely rent equipment from here again and highly recommend them to anyone else looking for this service."
"While staying in Kona-Kailua with our three baby granddaughters we first rented a porta crib through these folks online, which was straightforward -- but I forgot to order a high chair, so contacted them and they added that quickly and delivered all to the house before we arrived. But then we realized we also needed a beach shade tent and another backpack carrier. I offered to pick those up, but Lori was SUPER helpful and brought them over the next morning. She was quick to reply to all my questions and requests, and that is so wonderful when vacation time is limited and babies are toddling or crawling off in every direction. Plus, all the gear they brought was in very good condition and perfect for the age of our kids. Thanks so much!"
"We recently rented a crib/highchair from Aloha Kids. The crib and highchair were nice and delivered as requested. However, I extended our rental property time and forgot to inform Aloha Kids. They came into our rental, without our consent, and picked up the crib/highchair while we were out. When they did so they took the crib along with my sons personal items that were in it. When we returned home the front door was unlocked and the house was not exactly as we left it. We felt uneasy and eventually discovered that $900 had been taken from my Mom's wallet that was hidden in her drawer! We called Aloha Kids to ask why they let themselves in when we were clearly still staying there, why they didn't at least call before continuing, and to tell/ask them about the missing money. My husband tried to be very calm and nice when asking them about the money but the woman on the phone immediately got defensive and was rude to my husband. Not only that, but they did not bring my sons things back! I am not writing this to accuse them of taking the money, as we do not have proof. But why did they not want to work with us to figure out who did steal the money and/or what happened. Why did they come in after discovering we weren't home? Why were they in such a rush they didn't removed the items from the crib that clearly weren't theirs? Since I can not prove they took the money, my rating is not based on that (as obviously that would be a 0/5 rating) I am giving 2/5 stars because of their lack of communication and disrespect for our privacy/space. They should have called to receive consent or left and charged me a fee for the time/extra day. We would have appreciated if they apologized for coming in, told us exactly what time/who/how they came in etc. so we could have given the police more information. I do not recommend this company - I wish I just purchased a crib there or brought a playpen. :("
