"The owner is passionate about the quality of the coffee and will also give you a very personalized experience! Definitely a must try."
"I highly recommend stopping here to pick up some coffee! I'd pinned this place as our spot to stock up on Big Island coffee based on reviews and articles listing this place among some of the best coffee growers on the island, plus it's right on the highway towards the volcano park, bonus! When we drove up the sign said closed but luckily the husband (Jimmy) was out front mowing the lawn and told us to drive up to the house. That's where Lisa sells the coffee from. We're so glad this did work out! Lisa made us coffee from the Italian Espresso beans, we had a nice long chat about many things (don't expect a quick stop unless you point out that you are in a hurry) and picked up a good amount of coffee. I'm so glad that know when I'm home drinking my peaberry coffee from Moa'ula Kau'u Cloud Rest coffee farm I'll have this amazing experience to look back on! So special!"
"We love this coffee! It's at this amazing little roadside stand that I first learned to love coffee. On our first visit to the Big Island, we dutifully tried a number of larger coffee companies and the Ka'u coffee mill, but their coffee couldn't hold a candle to this little roadside stand. All of the coffees here are fantastic, but our favorite is the peaberry (sold only when she is open). The other coffees can be purchased online. Yes, the hours may not be exactly as posted online. I'm not sure what people are expecting in Hawaii, though. Almost all of the little stores on the island run on island time. If it matters to you, then call ahead. The coffee flavor is more than worth it."
"I've scoured Houston over the last six years desperately trying to find comparable coffee, but came up short. We finally made our way back here a few days ago and grabbed as much peaberry as we could. You can buy all of the beans online except the pure peaberry, so stock up if you drop by. They've started doing a 50/50 dark and medium order from their roaster, so while the medium won't have quite the depth of flavor as the dark it should have a better kick in the morning. She keeps Island Time, but supposedly will open if you call, or will stay open late. I just wouldn't expect the stand to be open at exactly 9am on the button... that's City Time. You can pay with a credit card, but only from the porch where she has cell reception. I didn't have a problem with this six years ago and I didn't have a problem this week. Also, expect to stay for a conversation. Bring some coffee up from the stand with you and enjoy the view from the house."
"Our coffee of choice at home - top quality, delicious, and we like directly ordering from the grower/roaster family. Ships immediately and arrives in a few days. Fresh small batch local Hawaii Big Island coffee."
