Roy's Waikiki

"My family dined at this restaurant a few days ago and had a great experience. We ordered the Ahi-20, Da Palala, and Hawaiian style rainbow rolls. All three were amazing and my favorite was the Ahi-20 roll. We also enjoyed the Misoyaki Butterfish. This was one of the best seafood dishes I have ever had. The fish melts in your mouth and tastes great. For desert, we had the pineapple upside down cake. This was very good with a scoop of vanilla ice cream. The staff are also friendly and helpful which contributed to a great experience at this restaurant. Definitely would come again."

"This is a special experience on Waikiki. I had the fried Zucchini appetizer which is just glorious, I would go back for that alone. The fish special was awesome and the hot lava chocolate dessert was the best ever. If you sit outside it's on a busy corner so you can people watch. Beautiful restaurant and exquisite food."

"Roy Yamaguchi is a culinary legend and when we found out he had a spot here we had to check it out. Overall, our meal was quite good. All the food was expertly prepared and some of the items were excellent. The shrimp & crab-filled raviolis were a particular standout. And the chocolate soufflé was the best thing we had in the meal. The short ribs were a bit of a disappointment, as it tasted basically just like pot roast from a crock pot (which isn’t bad but not what we expected). And the portions were a little on the small side for the cost. The staff was all courteous, if a little stiff. Our waiter was very proficient but could have used some charisma. He was very dour. Even so, he was capable and the ambiance is chill, with the modern, ocean-themed decor adding to the whole experience. This place is definitely worth a shot."

"I’m visiting Hawaii with my family and this wasn’t a typical place we would pick to eat but definitely a great experience. The food was absolutely amazing not only in taste but presentation as well. The portions size was not skimpy at all. The service not only is friendly and attentive but also knowledgeable about the menu, you can tell they have pride in what they do. I ordered the tiger shrimp with crab ravioli and I finished the whole plate it was so flavorful and moist, not to mention the biggest shrimp I’ve ever eaten in my life and the garlic parmesan sauce is the perfect combination. Others at my table ordered the ribs and finished the whole dish as well as the sampler all were very pleased. And for those who enjoy fish the snapper comes WHOLE head and tail attached and cooked to perfection. I definitely would recommend and plan on coming back for another meal."
