Zippy's Kalihi

"Visited this place as a friend recommended it. Brought a few coworkers with me, and everybody agreed the food was good. Problem was they completely forgot to give one of them their meal and after waiting over 20 mins, they refused to refund her the money."

"The counter guy Clark is really nice and efficient! He makes going to this Zippy's a pleasure. There are several curbside service parking spaces, which are in the rear of the restaurant off of Puuhale. Every time I go in they are cleaning, which makes me very confident on the quality of food from this place."

"So first of all, this is Zippy's we're talking about. It's kind'a like McDonalds for the island, BUT SO much better. My point is it's not intended to be fine dinning. But it IS intended to be comfort food I'd say. So you'll never find a 5 start Zippy's is my point. Food. as expected. Good, quick, as expected. Atmosphere. Typical Zippy's location. Tables, lots of Filipinos (my wife is Filipino fyi), reasonable clean, except bathroom Service. Really, it was excellent. The young Filipino man was so nice and polite, I wish he way my waiter at some fine dining places ;). I had the loco-moco, which is hard to go wrong at Zippy's. We has just landed, and it fit the bill after a long flight, and looking for late night grindz perfectly. Not much open at 11pm. Bottom line, would I go back. Fo'sho, if I'm looking for a Zippy's kind'a experience. Remember, it's Zippy's. But it's part of the experience. Aloha."

"The Counter person, I believe his name was Ronald, was terrific. We explained this was our first time at a Zippy's. He greeted us at the door, showed us and explained the menu items, and gave us samples of Zippy's unique drink options. He took great care of us. The food came quickly. It was, well, okay. My Loco Moco was good but it was only luke warm and didn't have enough gravy for my taste. The eggs were cooked just the way I asked but I had never had what was essentially a beef patty on the rice. The other dish, Teri Beef Plate was even less hot and the beef was very chewy and had some gristle. Overall, great service but not so great food. Will give Zippy's a second chance and hope the food is better next time."
