"We loved our food from the Hukilau Cafe! We ordered breakfast before going on a hike and it was super filling, delicious, and both dishes were very generous portions. We ordered the Hungry Hawaiian and the Veggie Breakfast with grilled potatoes. The service was great, they were very friendly and we will be going back when we visit in the future."
"I was their first customer on December 27. Firstly, If you look around you realize you are in a real community neighborhood spot. A beloved restaurant situated within a loving community. Secondly, the service was so warm and friendly and welcoming. The wait time was brief and everyone was thrilled with their breakfast. Portuguese sausage was outstanding. Pancakes were slammin'! Loco Moco was terrific!! If you are looking for an authentic friendly place, this is a bit of a hidden gem, especially considering the area. Would highly recommend a stop here. I ate many places on the island-- including high end restaurants like at the Four Seasons etc. Hukilau Cafe was hands down my favorite!"
"Five stars for Hukilau Cafe! We devoured a fantastic breakfast here this morning. The bacon, egg, and cheese sandwich was a classic done right: fluffy eggs, crispy bacon, melty cheese, and all tucked into a perfectly toasted roll. The ham and cheese grilled sandwich was a symphony of savory ham and tangy cheese toasted to golden perfection. But the star of the show was the French toast. Light and fluffy with a touch of sweetness, it melted in our mouths. And let's not forget the breakfast potatoes! They were a revelation - crispy on the outside, fluffy on the inside, and seasoned to perfection. Every bite was a delight. Hukilau Cafe is a must-visit if you're in the Laie area. The friendly staff, delicious food (especially those potatoes!), and relaxed atmosphere will leave you feeling happy and satisfied."
"Budget friendly and tasty breakfast cafe and must recommend if staying in North shore. We grabbed omelettes, baked potatoes and grilled cheese. And everything was tasty and non oily. Very homemade feeling. Lovely folks at the front desk and the only sad part is that it’s take out only. And yes this cafe name is the same one as the one in 50 first dates! We realized it later."
"Found this takeout restaurant while on our way to the beach. We stopped and ordered POG juices, fried rice, hungry Hawaiian plate and of course their famous banana pancakes. For a Saturday morning the wait wasn't bad at all, maybe 15 minutes at most. The food was still warm when we got to the beach and absolutely delicious. I highly recommend trying them at least once if you are near there while visiting Oahu!"
