"Took a pinion gear to this shop and asked of they had a bearing separator to remove the pinion bearing. They said "yeah, sure" and took the pinion back to beat on it with an air chisel without my knowledge. Mechanic returned to me with a now chipped and damaged pinion with the bearing not removed. Told me to get another one at the junkyard. It was a very good condition pinion that is out of production from the manufacturer. Turned a $200 job to an $800 job."
