"Great area for parking. Any 2wd vehicle can make it to this point, but after that a high clearance 4wd is necessary. The worst part of the road is right at the beginning, if you can make it through that the realest of the trail is pretty tame."
"Way to access the beautiful Crowley Lake Stone Columns. Don't trust Google map too much as some of the dirt roads might not be shown on GGmap - use common sense and judgement. If you are not sure you car has enough clearance, don't risk it! It is ok to park 2 mi away, then hike and enjoy the rest. Definitely a lovely place to see in Eastern Sierra region. Spare at least 2 hours for this location."
"Park here! Do not attempt to go further! There were so many fenders and bumpers thrown into the shrubs on the trail head. We saw someone get stuck too on the way back. I’m not sure how long they’d been stuck for but we saw the last 15 minutes while we walked back. It looked brutal! The trail took us about 40 minutes there and about the same back. It starts with a slope, 5 minutes there’s a small one; and the foot path to the beach on the cliff is intense! We brought water shoes. The water is green and murky and the beach is all pumice. The water level was high and you can see the top half of the columns. You can’t approach any of the columns without getting in the water. Really cool place! Never seen anything like it!"
"Amazing Views. If you want to go to the stone columns there is a road that goes there but there is an area that is steep and deeply rutted. It can be done with a 4x4 high clearance vehicle but I did not have the courage so I biked it"
