"I'm glad so many had good luck with Ferrell's, because we sure didn't. The starter in our 1985 VW Camper, went kaput down between Hawthorn and Tonopah. Two tow trucks later (it was a really bad day), we arrived at Ferrells at 9:00pm after they had closed. We left a message to call us in the morning to discuss the problem (the starter). Morning came and no calls, so we called and called and called, left several messages, but no one ever called back to talk to us to find out what the problem with the starter was. When I finally got thru, the woman answering the phone was rude and we got nothing accomplished. I NEVER spoke to a mechanic to talk about the problem. UNTIL, the owner called to inform us that they had ordered the NAPA part and we're putting it in and the van would be ready in an hour. When I asked him if had any experience with this van, he avoided the question with: "I've got over 40 years experience..." So what? NAPA parts and VW vans do not get along. We continued to have problems, even getting stranded again near Berlin, NV - way out in the boondocks, on a less traveled, dirt road. Fortunately, after the van cooled down, we got the starter to work again and immediately took the van back to Ferrell's. They supposedly did another inspection and said everything was fine. It wasn't. They charged us $800 for the wrong part that I had to replace at my regular shop to the tune of another $500. (Notice the difference in price with a shop that knows what they are doing and one [Ferrell's] that didn't.) Moral of the story: if you own a VW Camper van, stay away from Ferrell's."
"Had a leaking valve cover gasket and called Ferrell's to find out when they could get the car in. After talking with Jennifer she asked me to bring the car in so they could order the correct parts and we could pick it up the next day. They were great and true to their word we received a call the next day to pick up our car. Very reasonable price, great service and even though they were busy got us in and back on the road without having to wait weeks to get it done! Would recommend and will be using them for other vehicles as well!!!"
"The check engine light on our Jeep came on about an hour outside of Hawthorne. We weren’t able to get there before they closed and the owner, Chaco, met us at the shop the next morning (New Years Eve - when they were closed) and diagnosed the problem. His wife drove over 3 hours to pick up the part needed to repair the problem and Chaco spent his whole Saturday getting us fixed. We were 400 miles from our destination and they literally saved us. So thankful for this automotive guardian angel and his wife! He even gave us rides back and forth to where we were staying. I literally can’t thank him enough. Kindness like this restores your faith in humanity."
"I found this shop due to an engine light popping up on my truck as I was traveling through towing my RV. They are right across from Whiskey Flats RV park which made it extremely convenient to drop off my truck and walk back across the street. The owner "Chaka" , I pray I spelled that right, worked diligently with Robert to fix my diesel trucks turbo problem. It ended up only being a sensor, thank God. They were very honest and extremely thorough with my repair. They were also able to do a lift on the front of my truck to fix a problem another mechanic had created. Jennifer at the front desk was very kind to me throughout the process as well and had such a bubbly personality. Thank God for this place!!! They got us back on the road and made it possible to get back to Idaho confidently. Thank you guys sooo much for putting priority on my families needs."
"So far, service has been spot on. I hurt my Jeep during a poker run, and they made it better. I trust them enough that I'm going to do a major suspension job with them. Couldn't be happier."
