Legendary Smiles - Neil

"I’m writing this honest review in hopes of anyone considering of investing your trust and money with Legendary Smiles. I would highly encourage you to seek care elsewhere. My child has had braces for almost a year. The first couple appointments went great- they had been paid in full and very soon after I realized what improvements are needed in their practice. For starters, they have completely overbooked their customers. When you schedule your child’s next appointment, good luck trying to get the next appointment for another 2 1/2 months. Appointments should be every 4 weeks and 8 at the very latest. They are not accommodating with appointments when majority, if not all of their clientele is school-aged children. I’ve had multiple conversations with the receptionists not being helpful when coordinating times/dates and you are made to feel like you are inconveniencing them having to look at the schedule over multiple locations to “find a spot”. Why grow a dental practice to multiple offices, but not have not enough orthodontists to sustain certain locations every day and have patients going to incorrect or different clinics for each appointment? The amount of booking issues needs to improve drastically. My last and most important issue as to why I feel like anyone considering this place should probably go the other direction: my child needed an emergency appointment. I was called from the school nurse and the wire and coil spring popped out of the bracket and was in a position poking the gums, causing bleeding and pain-even after using wax and trying to manuver it all morning. I want to preface this by saying we already had an appointment later in the week for a bracket that popped on the opposite side of his mouth- and historically that same bracket has had problems staying on. When it would occur-I would simply wait for an apt time to fix. But my child was crying because they were dealing with it all morning trying to get through it and by 11 it was still bleeding and getting more painful. I called the office immediately and was told not only did they have a 2 hour lunch 12-2pm but they have a full schedule and we could not have an apt same day. I pushed back and said I would be showing up at the office at 2pm and someone needed to cut the wire. I wasn’t expecting it to get fully repaired-but at the very least just cut the wire to stop the persistent bleeding/irritation. The receptionist explained there was already 6 patients that had apts at 2pm and they were fully booked for the day. At that point I asked her to escalate this to the manager because it is totally unacceptable an orthodontic practice would make a patient wait that long- or turn them down a whole day - for 5 minute procedure to cut a wire causing bleeding. I then spoke with the manager who said she would put me on the schedule at 2:30 but something that I may not understand is the orthodontist was in meetings for 2 hours and no tech can use a tool in my child’s mouth without an orthodontist present. I said “Ok, so after the 2 hr break-then someone will surely be there at 2pm that can cut it?” She responded “We will try to fit you in, I made the appointment at 2:30, so when you get here we will just have to see when someone can fit you in”. The fact this was escalated to the manager and she could not even resolve the issues immediately, but instead use the same verbiage of “we will see when we can fit you in”. And also making an apt time 30 minutes after they open why? I took my child home from school and had to cut the wire off with floral wire cutters because I wasn’t going to wait 4+ hours for them to “try and fit us in”. At this point I’m going to a different practice for the braces to be removed and will never refer friends or family to Legendary Smiles. Any professional, caring company would have handled this differently and taken care of it quickly and with empathy- not pass it off like they were too booked up to help a child."

"I enjoy bringing my daughter to her orthodontist appointments! I also came to the same orthodontist when I had braces in my freshman year in highschool and one staff lady remembered me. That was nice to catch up and knowing my daughter is receiving the same treatment as I did when I was her age makes me smile. The orthodontists are very nice and we enjoy our appointments!"

"Absolutely love Dr. Larkin he has been great during the whole process. Always a smile and great bed side manners. 2 kids and almost 3 or 4 years later we still have no complaints about anything. Very informative. Great work. All the girls who do the mouth work are fast and efficient. Scheduling very accommodating and work around our schedules or school. Friendly/Happy atmosphere. Always a very clean environment. Totally recommend, THANK YOU !!"
