"I chose St. Croix cleaners as a brand new customer, looking for a highly-rated dry cleaner that was less expensive than Mulberry's. I brought in two, wool sweaters, a long dress with a wine stain, and a brand new (never worn) formal dress with what looked like an oil stain. Christie was friendly and helpful with making sure the stains were noted on my order. I came back a few days later to pick up my order, as I needed the oil-stained dress for a wedding I was in that weekend. As a first time customer, I was extremely disappointed to see not only the wine stains remained (with no notation of needing a re-clean), and also the oil stain on my dress. There were no notes about difficulties removing the stains, and they apparently passed the test of being "ok" for pick-up. St. Croix was unable to accommodate my request to re-clean the dress for the wedding by the date I needed (two days later), and proceeded to charge me $17 for a dress that was dropped off stained, and picked up stained. I've been trying to get a refund on this for over 1.5 weeks now, and am getting no answers. That said, the sweaters looked good, and the wine stained-dress is a lot better after two cleanings (a few stains still linger), but this place is surely not worth the effort or trips back-and-forth. It's just as expensive as Mulberry's, but not nearly as quality. Bottom line is that no customer should have to pay for the cleaning of an item that comes back in unsatisfactory condition. This is an issue of services provided; not personnel."
