Reviews of Gbg Mechanical
"Put in a hot water heater via AHS. Was in a rush to get to a concert with his son and said he would be back in a couple days to finish. That was in December. The water heater was in front of my furnace so it if needed service it was impossible. After several calls to him no answers. So I finished the job myself and did it correctly. Now I am off to deliver the old hot water heater to him in Chaska. (since he was paid by AHS for the disposal of the old one."
"Gary was assigned to us by our home warranty to fix a leak. He showed up and just put some silicone around the leak and called it good. Of course it was still leaking. We tried to contact him again but it was hard to get a hold of him. We finally got in touch with him almost a week later. He came out and did the exact same thing again: put more silicone on it. The result was the same, still leaked. From then on he ghosted us. We tried contacting him several times without luck. We called the home warranty company who said they contacted him as well, no response. Of course the home warranty company refused to assign us another contractor. This dragged on for a month before I told the warranty company that I would cancel the the warranty contract and hire someone else myself, at which point they agreed to assign me another contractor. The new contractor came out the same day, replaced the o-ring, and fixed it. New contractor said he could not understand why Gary put silicone on it in the first place. Overall it was the most frustrating experience I've had with a contractor, definitely do not recommend."
"Gary, the owner, from GBG Mechanical was contracted through American Home Shield for a water softener repair / replacement. Gary called me to let me know he'd be replacing the water softener but it would take about 2 months before he could show up. After the 2 months he didn't respond to any texts or phone calls. After 3 months I called American Home Shield and they contacted Gary who immediately contacted me and scheduled the visit. Gary was a no show on the day he scheduled our appointment saying he had an "emergency" the night before. After following up with American Home Shield I was told Gary had already completed the water softener replacement. Gary has never stepped foot in my house. I've called American Home Shield multiple times trying to be assigned a new contractor. I've called and texted Gary multiple times but he never responds or will pick up and immediately hang up. I texted Gary today letting him know that I've been talking with American Home Shield about how he lied to them about actually completing the water softener replacement. This finally got him to respond saying, "I'm not the problem, they've got a hold on installs. long story." It's been 6 months since I put in the request for my water softener."
"Gary was contracted through AHS. He came to our house and took the pipe away from our wall/sink. He stated he had to leave on an emergency, leaving the pipe off. Now 3 months later still not able to use my sink. We cannot get a hold of him to finish the job he started. He continues to no show on appointments and doesn't answer his calls. He's done an extremely horrible job. He's holding the service request hostage now. Lack of caring for his customers"
"GBG was sent by our home warranty company to diagnose a failing water heater. Gary was very courteous and professional, and took care of everything. A side note: Sometimes home warranty companies insist on doing certain things their way (where/when to source parts, etc) that can have the effect of lengthening lead times for the contractor and therefore the homeowner. This is 1) not at all unusual these days, and, 2) not the fault of the trade professional - they have to work within the constraints that the warranty company dictates if they expect to get paid for their work. Gary did a great job and followed up as he said he would. Install of replacement water heater was exactly as it should have been - worked perfectly right away. Recommend highly, and will contact again for other specialty needs."
