Reviews of LeafFilter Gutter Protection
"The crew did a tremendous job getting these beautiful gutters up in just over one day! They had to do some repair work where my very old gutters had damaged fascia & other components of the house itself. I'm thrilled with the quality of their work, and relieved that finally my gutters operate as intended, which is to protect my house from rain damage and ice dams! The team was communicative. They even had to come back the next morning due to not having some supplies they needed. LeafFilter did not charge me extra for this. Finally: I said "yes" to this job the day I talked with Jeff. Normally I wouldn't do that on such short notice. Jeff was a joy to talk with, & what he said made sense. I'm very glad I said "YES.""
"This company is a sham. I wish we would have done more research. First of all, the estimate was 2-3 times what we had expected. The salesperson was very convincing and was able to get the quote down for us. They came quickly and installed it. However, they came after the window said (and they had an 8 hour window) and didn't finish. Also, one of the workers asked to use our restroom and was in there for almost 30 minutes...I felt very uncomfortable with this. The siding on our house was filthy, but my husband said they would be back the next day to clean up. He signed a form saying it was okay to finish the job without us on site since we both had to work. When we got home, the siding was filthy and not cleaned up at all. I called, and the company said that was unacceptable. They couldn't get me a follow-up appointment for a week. I waited all day at home, and no one came. When I called the company, they said they sent someone out the week before, that person met with me, and they cleaned it up. I am in absolute shock. I've had some shady workmanship...but to completely make up a visit? I worked from home all day, no one came, and our security cameras reveal not a single person entered the property. Here are photos to reveal the "clean up job." Our siding was completely white with no marks before. I still have not had a supervisor call me back...do NOT trust this money. I will be reporting them to the Better Business Bureau as well."
"All the reviews below are accurate. This company is absolute trash. They quoted me $14,000 for my gutters initially then I ended paying $1800 after telling the sales guy he was crazy, they clearly pray on the elderly or naive. Once they got to installing the gutters the fun started. They didn’t follow any of the instruction, they had to keep coming out to fix it, the gutters kept over flowing because of the lack of pitch. Now months later I realized most of the gutters are holding a lot of water and that will be a issue come Winter. Called them, guy came out and made the gutters look like they were falling off the house… had to call him to come back out. He then adjusted to a decent visual appearance, said he would fill all his original holes. I went up to put on my own gutter screens on and all the holes were exposed so water will be accessing my facia boards..oh and by the way the sales guy lied to me and said if I put my own gutter shields on it would void my roofs warranty so I called my insurance company and they denied that would happen and said that was a poor sales tactic… unreal not only unethical but sloppy. What a nightmare. The sad part is I’m sure no upper management will even care this is being posted or practiced."
"Had our system installed about 10 days ago. Zero communication by crew-they would just show up or leave. Clearly worked hard, but left dirt and nails/screws all over without cleaning up causing a friend to get a flat tire in our driveway from one of the screws. Left a pile of silicone sealer dripping from a corner. The pile of silicone dried and the finish from our deck came off when we tried to remove it. We had just had the entire deck refinished a week earlier. We have a number of leaks from the gutters and can’t get service until early December. Really disappointed with entire installation process."
"WORST mistake of our life was being swayed by a slick sales presentation and then basically forced to make a decision on the spot to install these things. We were so desperate not to climb up on the roof anymore to unclog our gutters that we fell for this sales pitch. They don’t look very good from the ground, the mesh fills up with cottonwood fluff, and they bulge and ripple because the sections are so short and heat makes them twist and move. Valleys are a major issue because there is no way to miter the pieces without the mesh getting all wonky. Think you won’t have to clean these? Think again. They will need brushing and cleaning twice a year. This was not revealed to us. I will say that the ash and maple seeds did not get through the mesh except between a few sections and customer service was responsive to inquiries when water was spilling over in the valley (never was fully resolved). But after this very snowy, rainy winter, we had a 4 foot by 9” thick ice dam that formed on top of these, six feet up the valley. We are now facing inside repairs because of water that came through the ceiling when it backed up under the shingles because of ice that formed on top of the gutter guards before it snowed, but never melted. In 38 years, we have never had an ice dam. We would never recommend these, and ask that you do your homework before falling for this product and installation (which barely took two hours to slap up). It is far cheaper to hire a gutter cleaning person every year before installing these. This was the most expensive $5600+ mistake we have ever made and wish we could go back to that day to just say NO. I want our money back."
