"I have been going to this location for 20 years. This year the price increased by $75 and there was no pre-conversation, the tax person said "our prices have increased this year" she did not have any coupons at this location sorry. You should have gotten one in the mail. Poor customer service, was 15 minutes late for my appointment and no receptionist to assist. HR Block has lost me as a customer!"

"I called a few days prior asking for a "ballpark estimate" of cost of preparing the taxes. I said it wasn't a complex return - I didn't have a business or rental properties or anything other than a normal joint return with a couple kids. I had the understanding that it probably would fluctuate, likely to a greater amount. However, after being told a rough $150 estimate, the tax preparation total was $252.50! I wasn't too happy. I could understand a 30-40 dollar increase, maybe 50. But over $100!?!?? I think H&R workers can give a better/closer estimate than that. All they would need to do is ask a couple simple questions. I was told it was due to additional forms being used in the return. Shyeah, okay, whatever. I can't help but wonder if they get more money per each return they complete. The old trick of selling the customer low, getting them in, performing the service, and then saying, "Oh, by the way, you owe almost twice as much as we roughly estimated." Whether this is a company tactic or an individual employee (Karen) being deceitful, I will not be returning."
