"I recently used the services at Red River Animal Emergency Hospital. On 3/10/24, I drove up from Grand Forks with my dog Lucy and we decided to not let her suffer her illness, and sadly put her down. It was one of the toughest and easiest decisions I've had to make. She was my first dog outside of the family dogs growing up. She was my Best Friend and was with me all through college. The compassion and comfort the Staff and Doctors provided was unbelievable and amazing! From the bottom of my heart thank you for all you do and have done for me. I appreciate it immensely! Rest Easy Lucy!"
"It took me a long time to write this review. I hope I never have to go back to the animal hospital. This is the place I had to say goodbye to my best friend of 12 years. However, if I ever end up having to go back I know we will be in the most capable hands. The vet who took care of us was the most amazing person. He didn't make me feel bad for the tears streaming down my face. He took the time to explain what was happening and did not rush us whatsoever. Something that will always stick out to me is how he sat on the floor so that I could hold my feline best friend, Bella, as she left this world behind. Never in my life do I hope to go back here. But if I do I know the whole team will take the best care of us. Thank you."
"I felt the process was efficient and the staff were very kind. It's hard to have to hand over your dog away to the tech… She was very matter-of-fact about it but kind enough. It's a shame we can't be with our dog when they're being examined. My dog was so nervous she wet herself. We ended up having to put a little muzzle on her too. To be fair she is part Chihuahua so she's got a bit of an attitude with strange people, but I thought they handled her very professionally and gently. I brought her in for sudden pain from unknown origin and so it took a while to figure out what was going on with her … luckily, it turned out to be just a sprain. Being she was an older dog. I was thinking things like cancer and a spontaneous bone fracture, or a shard of bone splintered, that she had been chewing on earlier and was stuck in her esophagus, (vomiting present but was from the pain)or several other things but luckily, it turned out to be something far less serious. It was so hard to have to sit in the waiting room not knowing what's going on with your pup. But though the initial examination seemed to take forever, I was very satisfied with Dr. Kramer and his staff. Also, Holly came out and gave me an initial summary of Ivy's vital signs, and such before the doctor even had examined her so that calmed me down, and when I did get to talk to the vet, he took his time to really explain his thoughts about everything he found upon exam and listen to me and follow up with appropriate tests. I appreciate his, including me in discussion and care…like a team. His patience and concern were very reassuring. I was very happy with the results of the exam and Ivy's treatments and that I was able to walk out with her though she was a little wobbly from the medication. She was more comfortable and facing some doggy bed rest till she could heal, so I thought Dr. Kramer did a wonderful job listening to me and explaining his thoughts on diagnosing the problem. I thought he medicated her appropriately and she is at home now on the mend and is so much more eating and moving about like herself. I'm sure she's on the road to complete recovery. I'm so grateful it was nothing more serious. She has a habit of making flying leaps off of the bed and still being an older dog and possibly landing wrong. She ended up with a sprain in her front shoulder and neck area. BTW I also thought the facility was spacious, beautiful and well appointed (complimentary coffee bar while you waited On big comfortable chairs). Everything was neat and clean. I felt very comfortable, and I love the huge saltwater aquarium. The coral reef was beautiful. It was relaxing to watch the colorful fish dart in and out. Thank you for a wonderful experience. And also for providing insurance coverage option. It was approved on the spot and I was so grateful. I would certainly recommend this place to my best friends. Words cannot express my gratitude for the effort they made to address all my questions and do a thorough exam to treat my dog and help her recover. She means the world to me and they get that."
