"Complete incompetence. For 2021, I was told my preparer was Justin Fox. I said I didn't want him, but was told I had been assigned to him. I read my return which showed a large capital gain, but there were no capital gains. I took it back and the manager arrogantly told me their clients don't read their returns. They prepared an amended return but did NOT include the requested statement that the mandatory IRA withdrawal was donated directly to charity which resulted in my return being automatically referred for review. I called the IRS and gave them the statement to include the explanation. HG's amended return showing my refund as $3,381, but the final refund was actually $3,662.48. They can't do addition and subtraction either. If a refund error of $3,662.48 isn't worth reading your return, don't read it as the manager recommends. However, $3,662.48 was worth my finding someone else to prepare my returns."
