"Dr Kaplan performed fusion lumbar surgery on me and left me with a pinched nerve which has contributed to constant debilitating pain and immobility. I now have to have a laminectomy to correct the previous surgery by Dr Kaplan. Also, this surgeon has horrible bedside manners and didn’t even bother to check on me following my surgery while I was bedridden at Valley hospital."

"Dr Kaplan and Ryan are the best I have encounted throughout my multiple surgeries. His staff can be abrupt but are extremely busy and are very good once you get to know them. I have witnessed patients caregivers being quite rude/demanding and the staff will not tolerate it as some of the reviews show. I will say this, I do not chose my sugeons based on their staff I chose them on their competency and a "rude" staff member will not deter me from chosing the best surgeon possible."

"Dr. Kaplan and Ryan gave me a whole new outlook on life!! Tomorrow will be 2 weeks since my spinal fusion on L3/L4 along with the removal of a spinal cyst. Even with the healing still in progress, I feel 100% better than before my surgery! I was terrified to do this surgery because I've heard so many people say it didn't work for them and have had to undergo more surgeries because of that. I also believed I would be unable to move or walk much for months after wards...I can't believe how great I feel only 2 weeks post surgery! So a huge thank you and shout out to these 2 amazing doctors!! They seem to genuinely care about me and my recovery. Any issues or questions I've had the last 2 weeks were promptly addressed and explained to me. I have not had to even use a walker or the back brace. All the doctors I've had in the last 10 years dealing with this pain have minimized my feelings and concerns stating I was to young to be that severe, and basically blow me off...even my current PCP. The only reason I was given my referral to Dr. Kaplan was because of the cyst and my PCP didn't have any clue what to tell me! As it turned out, Dr. Kaplan was very confident that surgery was my best option and confident he could help me. He did not pressure me in any way at all, told me that it was up to me how i wanted to proceed. I'm so extremely happy I decided not to put it off...I could have lost many more years to pain out of fear! So thank you guys again!! I highly recommend you give them a chance if at all possible!!"
