"Everyone in this office is fabulous. The waiting area is very clean and the examination room is absolutely spotless! They even had an air filter in the exam room. I scheduled an appointment to have the Dr. look at suspicious moles and discolorations on my skin. My appointment was with Dr. Juhl. He carefully and thoroughly examined all of my skin and explained each area that may be of concern, why it may be of concern and why other areas were not of any concern. He has a very pleasant bed side manner, and listens to what you have to say. He's also very approachable. I left his office feeling and believing I received exceptional medical care. I highly recommend this dermatologist."

"I am a Carson Dermatology refugee. Last straw was annual exam and Dr. Adams didn’t even examine me! He just had me point out things. I was not asked to completely disrobe for a proper skin cancer exam. Time for a new and much more thorough exam. My primary care Dr referred me to Minden Dermatology and boy, am I glad I went. The office staff are just so upbeat, professional and kind. Jackie, a nurse there, was absolutely wonderful. Made me feel very comfortable. She methodically reviewed my records and asked me some questions. Then I disrobed and put on the fun paper garments. Dr, Helfman came in and was so utterly thorough, precise and professional. He has a genuine interest in people’s skin and has a curious mind. Great traits for a physician I would say! Plus he has a good “bedside manner”. He comes off as cerebral, which I like, and kind too. They found things and biopsied one and I go back for a surgery Soon for another concerning spot. I highly recommend this practice."

"I have been to dermatologist all my life and they always burned stuff off my face and have never done a full body search. I had a friend who had melanoma and she referred me to Dr. Helfman. At first I was skeptical, but NOW I wouldn't think of going any where else. The full body search, taking off only what needs to be taken off my face, his wanting to take care of you attitude and caring that he does it right, has made him very special to me as a person and as a doctor. If you are looking and the above attributes are what you are looking for in a doctor, please look no further."

"You won't find anyone more thorough than Dr. Helfman. As a cancer survivor I appreciated this. If your not comfortable with such a thorough exam you can leave your base layer on. I have a lot of spots to exam and I never left thinking that he didn't inspect every single one. He is also not a "scraper" trying to get a paycheck. I have been to four or five dermatologists and I really don't like folks scraping a layer off every visit "just to be safe". If a friend had a real concern I would send them here first."

"Very competent doctor, BUT - My entire family is a patient of Dr Helfman as was I at one point. I was and still am self-pay for my healthcare and unfortunately, my account went about $150 delinquent a few years ago because of a loss of my job.I shortly thereafter received a call from Gloria, his office manager. She said "you are being dismissed as Dr Helfman's patient".I had no warning of this.Since my dismissal, I recently tried to make things right with my account and make an appointment to see Dr Helfman. I was called again and said "once a patient is dismissed, there's no coming back". Well, needless to say, I was shocked by this. I understand the health care system is a "for profit" business, but what about the "Hippocratic Oath"??? Does is count for anything that my ENTIRE family including my own wife is a patient of Dr Helfman??? And despite my efforts to return into his care, I've been shut out over a $150 bill that I'm wanting to pay in full. The system is broken, and this is just one story of a significant broken part. Dr Helfman is a good doctor, but his "black and white" excommunication style of handling his patient's accounts is both cold, heartless, and quite frankly disgusting. In life, there ARE gray areas in everything, including this Dr Helfman. Shame on me for being irresponsible with allowing a past due bill with your office, but also for assuming that there is such a thing as GRACE in the health "CARE" field. And shame on you for proving me wrong."
