"I am extremely frustrated with my experience at Reno Heart Institute. I was seen in January 2024 by Dr. Rowan as a new patient. I scheduled an echo cardiogram and a follow up appt a week after. Early to mid February, I called the facility and reached an operator who took down all my information and said she would forward it to the front desk the following day. She even told me that the cardiologist I had seen was all of a sudden no longer at the facility. I was wondering why I never received a call to receive this information beings my cardiologist and I had some upcoming plans regarding my heart. I gave a few days of grace to allow them to return my call. A week passes and I call their facility again and only reach the voicemail. I leave all my info and questions again for a call back. I had questions about how much an echocardiogram was after speaking to my insurance and finding out that I had a high deductible that I did not want to pay at this time. More time passes with no returned call. I also was still curious to know what was going to happen since my doctor left their facility. I called another time and once again left a voicemail with again no call back. Today 3/22, I finally received an automatic call from Reno Heart Institute reminding me of my appointment for 3/25 and it said to call the office by today to cancel (I already left a voicemail trying to cancel a week or so prior). I called the office and once again it went to voicemail. I left a message requesting cancellation again. I called again and went through the automatic system and selected the options stating I was calling from a doctors office or hospital. Only then, did I finally have someone answer my call. I let the lady know what happened and my frustrations of not receiving any information or call backs or my request to cancel not being acknowledged. The lady on the phone didn’t acknowledge any of the things I was feeling or even apologize. She said okay I’ll cancel and document that. That was the extent of the convo. I’m very unhappy with how this went. I am just thankful that I was not having anything emergent or more important done because who knows if that would have even received a call back. I will not be coming back to this clinic. It did not feel that my health was a priority to them."
"My GP referred me to Dr Desai during this recent holiday due to an anomaly on several heart tests that indicated I may have had a heart attack. Dr Desai squeezed me in almost immediately and after review my tests and conducting his own, discovered that there was no heart attack and just a minor electrical issue. I was able to keep my scheduled knee surgery thanks to a quick and accurate diagnosis from Dr. Desai. I would like to also add that he has a great personality and is a great communicator."
"I don't recommend this'll office. Dr. Levin was ok but everything else was inefficient. Took too long to get an appointment, referrals were not made, no request for emergency contact. Building not ADA compliant."
"I was called by the scheduling department at this clinic to schedule an appointment after they had received a referral from my doctors office. They seemed to be confused as to what test I needed done and asked me to confirm. Since I didn't have the referral in hand, I asked them what was on the referral that prompted them to call me? They said an ultra sound. OK, however that wasn't what I remembered my doctor asking to be done. I then went to my doctors office the next day to get a copy of the referral. It clearly states a stress echo test. How the scheduling department confused that with an ultra sound is beyond me. At this point I then spent 3 days calling during business hours to clarify what test I was getting. On the third day I finally after multiple attempts got connected with someone. The person was very helpful and apologized for the inconvenience, but did confirm I was scheduled for a stress echo. I was happy to hear this. Just now I receive another call from this office confirming that a mistake was made and that they don't do stress echo tests at this location. I am let down that this office doesn't know after multiple phone calls what tests are being done. They wasted two weeks of my time getting scheduled for the correct test at another office and seemed to be willing to conduct the incorrect test. This is unacceptable and I would never do business with a clinic that will gladly take money from a patient for the incorrect test. Completely unprofessional and good luck ever getting in touch with someone here."
"I am so very grateful I met Dr. Desai. He saved my life and made my quality of life so much better. I was experiencing an irregular heartbeat, high blood pressure and anxiety. It's now a year and a half after my aortic valve replacement and my blood pressure is normal without meds, my heartbeat is normal and I'm walking 3-5 miles most days and cycling 10-20 miles all at altitude. Dr. Desai truly cares, is knowledgeable, and very professional."
