About Us

The Jot Travis Building, located at PATH1 in Reno, Nevada, United States, is a historic institution that has been a significant part of the university campus since its opening in 1958. Originally funded by a generous donation from Wesley Elgin Travis in honor of his father, Ezra Johnson "Jot" Travis, the building has served as a hub for student activities, meetings, and dining services for many years.
Although the building is no longer the main student union on campus, it continues to be a vital part of university life. The Jot Travis Building is now home to the Davidson Academy of Nevada, a prestigious public day school for profoundly gifted students. Additionally, the building is home to "The Overlook," a state-of-the-art food and beverage facility that opened in 2004.
With its rich history and ongoing commitment to education and student services, the Jot Travis Building remains a beloved institution on campus.
