"Was told course work was available 24/7, but that isn't true: they have timeslots available 7a-7p M-Th and 7a-4p Friday. They call them "Mentored Sessions" even though the only "mentor" available is a tech support person if you're having trouble with the remote classes. If you work, they don't care and won't change anything to accommodate you. They won't admit their structure is completely artificial and arbitrary. Their graduation rate is less than 20%, but I'm guessing they keep all the money they get from state grants and such. My class was 5k of tax money and I feel like I helped them commit fraud. Be very careful dealing with these snakes"
"Great learning center for computers. Thanks to Heidi, Kevin and all the staff. They were all helpful and friendly. Five Stars!"
"I visited the center for the Grand Re-Opening. It was a pleasure to see the lovely results of the remodel. Since the center was purchased TWO YEARS ago by NH Learning Group team I have seen a complete upgrade of the learning experience along with excellence in customer service. The new team has been amazing!! NOW, the center has the look that matches the experience!!! Great Job bringing a quality learning experience to Reno!!! Two thumbs up for turning a run down center into a place of beauty!!!"
"Love the new facility! New Horizons instructors are friendly and knowledgeable. I would recommend this location."
"Attended for 9 months as part of a retraining program. This is a sales organization first, educational program second. Student advisor selected courses per my interest but did not know the full picture of requirements and prerequisites for the selections made. The 5 day courses are meant for a review before sitting for a certification examination and are not suitable for a person seeking a retraining program in a new field. This organization stated they have a student mentor available but the reality was not as advertised; the employee tasked with this was the IT administrator with many other responsibilities and not necessarily a content expert on everything offered. The remote instructors were not available after the course finished for review or help. Was told they were not paid to help after the courses. The Adobe courses were adequate in teaching the basics but the cost were high compared to many other online options out there. The core of my retraining program, testing for Microsoft programming certification, states that the exam participant should have a minimum of 2 years of working experiences with the technology prior to taking the exam. The 5 day course was not designed for a beginning student and did not offer much help after completion. I was not made aware of these recommendations. All in all, there were some positives I got out of this but the negatives, including cost, poor planning on the schools part regarding training, being sales oriented first, education second, and lack of educational support coupled with outdated equipment I can't recommend this organization for any serious student seeking a quality educational experience."
