Jim Bridger Middle School

"It's definitely not the worst school, but not the #1 best either. I attended this school from 2013-2016 all 3 years. Great teachers here. They tend to have a great fitting sense of humor towards the current generation without making a fool out of themselves, they help you whenever you need it, fun activities nearly all around. If there was a teacher that I considered the greatest, it would be Mrs. Kennedy. The negative parts about it was how your schedule could get changed drastically by switching just one class. 7th grade was a good example of that, as I wanted to change my English class and ended up getting almost every single class switched as well... But also got (who I consider) the best science teacher in which unfortunately I forgot her name. Great class as well studentwise. But one negative thing I experienced in 8th was getting my chosen elective (being TV Production, quite fun) swapped out for some other class. I was upset after that of course and hopefully it doesn't happen to anyone else on their electives. Overall, I had a very memorable time here during the 3 years I attended. Student store during lunch was full of good stuff, fights were very rarely seen while I was there, bullying was a bit of a problem during 6th grade but was entirely gone by the second semester in 7th. I'd recommend this school if you're looking to make some good friends with classmates and teachers. It's not the greatest if you're only trying to get in, get work done, and leave. There are some bad apples here or there who are quick to judge others based on what they like and such. But I can guarantee that you will have a memorable time overall, and buy a yearbook if you do, because you're gonna miss it sometime soon."

"Overall pretty good school. I like the teachers and they are pretty nice and cool to me. However the restrooms are just... eh. Alot of the time the bathrooms in the building are locked so I have to go the the cafeteria to use the restroom there. However, the single toilet in the cafeteria doesn't even have a lock. -_-"

"All the schools seem to have the same problems. They all seem to have kids that don't respect the teachers and teachers that are tired of it. I have always believed that if there is something you don't like about a situation, then do something about it. Just complaining about it won't change anything. At my daughter's last school they lacked after school activities, so I stepped up and volunteered to run one. My daughter didn't like the food that was served, so she now makes her own lunches. These are just a few examples of what I have done to help my daughter's school in the past. If you're worried about the quality of education, then get involved. Ask questions, get to know the teachers, be a parent! I know all of my child's teachers, her schedule, and how she's performing and behaving in her classes. At times I have taken it as far as knowing who's she's sitting next to and who she's having lunch with. Some say I am controlling, but I am being an involved parent that that is was an involved parent does."

"this is a MAGNET school. MOST, if not all, magnet schools in CCSD are in the ghetto where the schools are older so don't expect new facilities! my child has attended bridger for 2 years. the bathrooms are disgusting. the staff only allows 3 bathroom passes for each semester, which i think is stupid to deny a human the right to urinate. my child never gets to eat lunch because the lines are too long and the lunch period is too short. i witnessed the lunch fiasco when i attended a parent meeting. i brought this up to the principal and she dismissed it stating "if the kids need to finish their lunch, we will let them". untrue because my child and friends state that they will get detention if they are late to their next class. in hindsight, i shouldve toured the school DURING school hours, BEFORE i enrolled my child there AND asked previous students and their parents about their experiences at bridger, as i relied on the back to school fairs and parent info night to influence my decision."

"My two younger siblings go to this school. From the start ive noticed the teachers are generally decent, a little strange, but when i was in school i normally paid more attention to the oddball teachers, so a big plus there, but i have noticed a few of the teachers slack in holding their responsibility. This really concerns me as an older brother. ive also noticed that some of the faculty can be bad role models and rude. i had seen on of the office workers driving the wrong way in the parking lot and said something to her about it, as a response i was told "I know that, i work here, i can read!" and she drove off, nearly hitting a kid that was standing near the rear of his parents truck. If this is how the faculty acts while at the school, I am truly worried to see what the people that work here are like out side of school. I've noticed that a lot of the school physically, needs help too, but that's understandable because its an older school and older buildings. I think i would be cool to have some kids/parents volunteer to help clean up the school some. The whole iPad issue was a big let down, my siblings were some of the few that aren't taking them home, and the amount of time and class work they missed out on while the school was trying to figure out a system really bothered me. the school seemed very disorganized and confused on the entire situation. Overall, for CCSD, this is a good school, could it do better? yes. Could it be worse? YES."
