"My son is going to this school for 6th grade and he wants to play flag football or something do they have a sport team or something and if there is please let me know"
"school it TOO STRICT they make you get 10 points for your behavior and after that youre expelled"
"It's a fantastic projects based school. It's pretty small so the principal knows every student's name. The classes change every four weeks for 8-12 and I believe 8 weeks for 6-7. The kids pick their "flavor". Example, cooking with math in 6th grade, one of the projects is that they make a restaurant logo on Canva, show a recipe with expenses, and the math for doubling the math, draw a picture of themselves and write a bio. They front load at explore...so they learn the night before about what they will be covering in class the next day instead of rehashing with homework information that they didn't understand that day. It's a very effective and engaging school. Friday's are short days and they get an hour of the club they choose during school. Examples of clubs are dance, Lego club, chess, anime, art, video games, D&D, debate, etc. They are a small school so if you're child needs special Ed classes they don't have the resources. But if your child just needs some accommodations then the teachers are great at this if you let them know. Example, a child with dyslexia might only have to write a one page paper instead of a 2 page paper. Because they are paperless the kids need a Chromebook. If you're lower income they lend you one. The upside to this is that you don't need a big list of supplies to bring for the whole class, just some things for your kid. Because a lot of the kids qualify for free lunch, the school actually does free breakfast and lunch for everyone, not just for kids that qualify. It's a very small school so there is accountability, and the administration is fantastic. There really isn't bullying besides the occasional kid calling someone an idiot. Kids get expelled if they get 10 occurrences so maybe that's why there isn't much in the way of bullying. The only thing that's a con is that there's a lot of swearing by students. But that's pretty standard at that age. If that's the worst thing I think that explore has really hit the mark on being a great environment for learning."
"Was not happy having my 6th grade student mixed with HS peers. Education is not what I expected, or at least not what it is claimed to be. Lack of communication between Teachers and parents. Students are ditching class on a daily basis, staff members see them but don't care. I bought new uniforms and cromebooks for both my children. However they only attend this school for 2 months. So save your time and money"
