Nelson Hall

Nelson Hall is a prominent university institution located at 1419 6th Avenue South in Moorhead, Minnesota, United States. Standing twelve floors tall with a unique cylindrical shape, Nelson Hall is a campus landmark. The 12th floor lounge offers stunning views of campus, downtown Moorhead, the Red River, Fargo, and the surrounding plains.

The rooms in Nelson Hall are pie-shaped and situated around the building's perimeter, with a coed floor layout. Each floor features community spaces such as a social lounge, study rooms, and kitchenettes with stoves. Laundry rooms are conveniently located on each floor, eliminating the need to travel to the basement.

Renovated into Upperclass Singles, the rooms in Nelson Hall feature full-size beds. Each room has its own mailbox located at the hall desk on the first floor. Wireless internet is available in rooms and common areas, connected via StarID and password.

Residents of Dahl, Grantham, Holmquist, or Snarr Complex have lofting capabilities built into their beds. Those in Nelson Hall have full-size beds that are non-loftable. Residents of Ballard Hall can rent a bed loft through College Loft Services.

MicroFridges (combination refrigerator, freezer, and microwave) are available for rental on a first-come, first-serve basis. Renters insurance is strongly encouraged, as MSUM does not insure personal belongings in student rooms. Students can arrange for renters insurance through their own insurance company.
