"Can the lines be impossibly long? Yes, but that’s part of living in a small mountain town. The pharmacists there always impress me with their knowledge and care. As a known sick kid I am there A LOT, but really do feel as though they are monitoring all of my meds and give recommendations to improve outcomes."
"It's a mixed bag. Certain pharmacists are great; others not so much. In general, the fulfillment of prescriptions is so-so at best. My husband and I have been told our prescriptions would be ready at a specific time and have come back to pick them up (multiple occasions) only to have to wait even longer. Today, I brought a prescription in for heart medicine for my dying dog (true....has DCM, AFib, MVP and a growing mass in her chest) and was told that the prescription could not be filled because of a misspelling. Specifically, the Rx said "diltiazam" not "diltiazem". Wow. No room for professional judgement?"
"The folks who work in this pharmacy act irresponsibly. If you value your time, I wouldn't recommend coming here. While waiting in line, I saw a few people who had not yet had their prescription filled and were told it would be ready in 45 minutes. Once I got to the pharmacist, I was told my prescription was also not ready yet, but I would be able to get it first thing the following. Morning. No big deal, I come back the next day. While waiting in line, yet again, a customer in front of me did not have their prescription filled at the promised time. He threw a fit and was able to get his prescription filled within a few minutes. I was served, sure enough, my prescription was still not ready. The person at the cash register informed me that my doctor hadn't filled out the prescription properly. I've had this doctor for over 2 years and this hasn't happened in the past. I would've expected a phone call or some sort of notification that my prescription was not yet ready; this is what well-run businesses do when unable to meet their commitments."
"Prescriptions are never filled on time and their lack of process takes forever. You usually have to wait in line twice. Once to personally request your order be filled. Then when you return again about 30 minutes to an hour later when they're finally able to fill the order that was likely sent by the doctor yesterday or last week. Each time in the line is half an hour of your life gone due to inefficiency. How do we allow this kind of Medical service to exist as a standard in the United States? We should be ashamed."
