University Foundation Arts Building

The University Foundation Arts Building, located at 1664 North Virginia Street in Reno, Nevada, is home to the School of the Arts. This institution offers a wide range of bachelor's and graduate degrees in art, music, theatre, and dance. Throughout the year, the School presents world-class visual and performing arts events that are inspiring and thought-provoking.

One notable initiative at the University Foundation Arts Building is the Larry Engstrom Endowment for the Advancement of Jazz, established in honor of Dr. Larry Engstrom's retirement. This endowment aims to further the strong jazz tradition that Dr. Engstrom built during his 34-year career at the University.

The School of the Arts hosts signature events that feature top-tier art, music, theatre, and dance performers, as well as providing instruction to exceptional students. The degree programs offered in visual art, music, theatre, and dance prepare students to excel as artists, educators, and scholars.

Additionally, the Reno Jazz Festival, held annually in April, relies on the support of volunteers to create a vibrant hub for jazz, music education, and innovation on the University campus. The School of the Arts also celebrates student achievements, such as Stephen Myler winning the Spring 2024 Sticker Contest with his screen-printing and sonic-inspired design.
