"This school is absolutely horrendous, I spent my freshman year at sky point and it was just terrible. Sure the education was harder than most high schools as expected in a collage prep school but the administration was the worst I’ve ever seen and treats everyone with no respect and are very rude. I was constantly treated bad by the staff for no reason and I wish never went to the school. Sure some teachers were good and I did learn a lot there but I would say I had more bad experiences than good. I remember last year a student brought a gun & knife to school crazy right? Well the admin didn't put the school in a lockdown or anything. They kept it quiet. I do not recommend at all please do not send you’re children to this school for multiple reasons but number one for me is safety."
"Since this school does not provide transportation, the very small school parking lot fills very quickly with parents picking up their children. It gets worse when there are functions at the school then we have no choice but to park along the main roads. The administration complains about parents parking along the main roads…FIX THE PROBLEM!"
"If I could give this school negative stars i would. The admin are so focused on whether the students are in dress code or whether they are wearing a mask or not. non of the admin wear masks and they scold the students for not wearing them. they will dress code students for having a no polo under hoodies why are they asking mainly girls if they are wearing a polo under and asking them to show them if we are or not. they focus a lot on yondr pouches to, they do way to many yondr checks and it gets kind of annoying I've been going to somerset for 4 years now and im sick of it."
"As a former SPED teacher at this school, I highly recommend finding another school to work at or another school to enroll your child. Unfortunately, there are no resources to handle the amount of special education students that attend this school. I spent two school years at this location and it didn't go well. While I won't go into specifics, I will say look at the ratings and look overall at the reviews on Google and Yelp, and take in to account all of what you are seeing posted about this school. There are a few things that I wish I would have known as a SPED teacher before accepting the position. First, you will not have your own room. There will be 2 to 3 SPED teachers per room. Your "small groups" typically are about 13 or so kids out of a general education class. There is no resource replacement, so you will be pushing into gen ed classes all day. With COVID, the amount of plans that you will be writing is beyond what is possible to complete. If that isn't enough, make sure you know that you are walking into an admin who will not give good employee reviews if you try to leave. Please, please, please find another school to work at. This school was a Special Education trap."
"I graduated from here, and I honestly had the worst time. The high school portion of this school isn't very good. A lot of the teachers are teaching classes they have no knowledge about, and just took on for an extra buck. They are way too strict about dress code and probably care more about if the students are wearing polos under their school sweatshirts than the students' education. The staff favors some kids more than others too especially with how they apply some school rules. For a "college prep school" I think that I would have been much more prepared if I had just went to public school. Don't get me wrong, I think that some of the teachers here genuinely care about what they are teaching, but the school doesn't have the experience and organization for what they are saying they have. When it comes to the AP classes, they are structured exactly the same as the regular classes. Maybe in a few years, when the school and administration has had a lot more experience, the school will be up to par with what they are trying to pass it off to be."
