"I called because we received a debt collection letter to our home for an unknown business/person. Thought it would be helpful to call and straighten it out. The person I spoke to was very terse and rude. I don’t know this business, but their representative’s interpersonal skills were terrible!"
"Always rude staff. The creditor who owned my account always told me I couldn’t speak to them and to call attorney. Call attorney and they say I have to talk to creditor. I didn’t even want to go to court but they didn’t like that I wanted proof of my debt. Pretty sure they faked a payment on my account that is 8 years old so that it wouldn’t be statute of limitations. Why have a debt unpaid for years and all of sudden a year before it closes make a $35 payment?"
"Really question the legal aspect of the whole collection process. Sell original debt off with no back ground and then on to a court hearing from which I was never served, obviously these repo attorneys spend their days in court so they are there, and don't have to miss work if I noticed. It's just a crazy system. Set up to fail. And yes it's not the easiest bunch to deal with. Could go on with how many times I've been spun around ,harassed ,and just plain disrespect. Very crooked, unpleasant but mostly just plain unprofessional."
"My ex fiance opened a card in my name and racked up debt. I was willing to pay as I didn't know he did this until now and had no idea how to prove it wasn't mine. I called numerous times, wrote letters, emailed and went on their payment plan website and made SO many payment plan offers for the FULL AMOUNT and no one EVER contacted me. I got a notice to appear in court TWO DAYS AFTER THE COURT DATE. I worked with a debt collector years ago for medical debt and they were kind and willing to do what they could for us to figure the debt out. This is a predatory "business". I now have a judgment against me. Thankfully I have no plans to buy a home or car or anything because at this point I'm willing to let it sit on my credit as I don't make enough for them to garnish my wages. Place needs to be investigated."
"I made my payment and Tom Dollar called harassing me that it was missing last month which it wasn’t; he was calling me after they had already deposited my check! I called them; The guy was very nice, and assured I wouldn’t be called again and apologized. this month.. my payment is due today, Tom Dollar has been calling me for the last 5 days and I got a letter saying I’m missing a payment. I call today to clear it up and the absolutely awful woman on the other line argued with me about them calling me because they call when my payment isn’t on time, I told her you called me AFTER my payment was received by you last month and this month you’re calling before it’s even due!! She argued and argued and argued, it’s called an apology and say you will stop calling me! I’m sure you have someone to harass who actually misses payments! I’ve never missed a payment yet! She should absolutely be fired immediately, I’m sure she is the reason for most people attitudes you have to deal with"
