"Really solid, authentic Mexican food. Pretty large portion sizes, definitely more than your typical street taco spot. I tried the adobada and chorizo. The adobada was good but I wish it was spicier and had a stronger flavor. The chorizo was not great - it was incredibly mild and kind of dry. All of the other ingredients were great, and I’d definitely like to go back and try the carne asada. The method of service is different but effective - you walk up to the various line cooks to order dishes and then take your tray up to the cashier to pay for everything. Dining area was spacious and had lots of natural light."
"Stopped at this location near the Las Vegas Harry Reid Airport on a Sunday evening for dinner and was blown away by the food, friendly service and decent prices. The menu is not as extensive as some other Mexican cuisine restaurants, but the preparation process in front of your eyes is a fun treat in itself, and so is the delicious food. I recommend the Tacos with pork (Tacos Adobada) which are cut directly from the spit! Plenty of tables and chairs inside, and lots of free parking outside. I only wish they had one of these in Denver. Recommended!"
"I've tried Tacos El Gordo several years ago, but at a different location. I thought the experience was good (not outstanding), considering all the hype that surrounds this business. I wanted to give it another try and introduce it to my family for their first experience, therefore, we drove to this location because I didn't feel like driving to the other Tacos El Gordo restaurants in Las Vegas, especially the one on the strip. Not to mention, this location was recently built and I thought it looked really nice from the outside and I've been wanting to visit. When we walked in the restaurant, I was in awe due to the size of the facility and with how many customers were in the restaurant. This restaurant had the same concept as the other one I visited where you stand in the line of the meat item you want. I know that this concept works for the majority of customers, but honestly, I'm not a fan of it. The idea of having to split up my family to order different meats or even fries is a tad bit annoying if you ask me. Not to mention, even if I was by myself, it would be especially challenging to get both beef and pork in one line without having to jump to another line. I was informed at one point to just ask for asada while in the adobada line (or vice versa)...well, if that's the case, then why not just have 2-3 lines to stand in to order your food and eliminate the meat-specific lines entirely? Well, the concept seems to work for this successful business so I guess my opinion doesn't really matter at this point - regardless, I'm still sharing it. Additionally, I think the business could benefit from adding more indoor seating arrangements (seems as though they have the room for it considering the size of the building and floor space), because after my wife had ordered the family's asada items, she went outside to find a table since there weren't any open tables inside. While she was sitting outside, "MY" tacos were getting cold because I was still in line trying to get my and my daughter's pork items - this was rather aggravating! If not additional indoor seating, then perhaps several outdoor heaters? Or maybe the 2-3 line concept that allows customers to order whatever in each line? We ended up ordering the Mula Adobada, Vampiro Adobada, Taco Adobada, Taco Azteca, Asada Tacos, and Asada Tostada. The quality of the food is just amazing but given the price of the tacos, I wish it was a little bigger. Don't get me wrong, the tacos aren't super expensive or anything...I just don't believe the quantity warrants the price. Overall, I like this restaurant, hence the 4-star rating. I know it may sound like I was dissatisfied with this place due to the aforementioned things above (that's why it's not 5 stars); however, I can see myself visiting again down the road and I still recommend this restaurant to everyone."
"This location sits adjacent to Town Square. So after a full day of shopping or partying near by, this is the perfect place to sit down for some really good tacos. This restaurant has glowing neon signage out side so you cannot miss it. At about 2 am a few of us came in for a bite to eat and the place was lively. It's brightly lit and has tons of space to hold a big crowd. You order at the window of which ever meat choice you want and most often you are seeing your food freshly grilled or sliced depending on what you ordered. My personal favorite is the adobada. It's marinated pork that is slow roasted on a spit and sliced to order. It's the best! The tacos here are not cheap. And honestly they don't need to be. I mean for the amount of meat and the fresh flavors that you get it's well worth the cost. For 10 tacos and a couple of drinks we spent $50 bucks and it was money well spent."
"The newest location is very big and has tons of space. Tacos are delicious! The line goes by fast.Staff is very friendly and polite. Tables are kept clean, and they collect your trash. I like this new location best rather than the strip location."
