"We had our champagne brunch after our wedding here. They accommodated 54 people, and it never felt like a strain. The servers were so nice, the selections were great, and not a single person in our group left before singing their praises; it helped make our day beyond perfect. Now, PERSONALLY, I have a lot to say. The shrimp and grits was better than I expected, but as I took bites of my husband's eggs benny, I wondered if I may have been better off with that (both were good, so you won't go wrong either way)! We had a couple with some youngins and the kids LOVED the burger. To my understanding, with a party our size, modifications were limited, but they did have vegan options, and those who had them raved about how delicious they were. Finally, the desserts were amazing; they ran out of the chocolate mousse, but had backup options they brought out for those who missed out. FINALLY, the bar was fantastic. I wish I'd gotten her name, but the bartender was incredibly knowledgeable about the liquors served and let me have a tour around their tequila selection; I will think about her daily, but also of some of the most caramel-y tequila I've ever had. I can't thank them enough for making our wedding day even more perfect than we expected. Edit: we came back 3/17. Still just a phenomenal place to eat. We had, as a group, the duck, filet, salmon, and shot rib with everything being perfect (except the gratin; slightly underdone). HUGE fan of their margaritas, and the service is great."
"Let me begin with the positive and, as I go along, I’ll explain why I gave four stars instead of five. A couple of weeks ago I made a reservation for a party of six to celebrate my wife’s birthday. We got a table on the patio overlooking the lake, near the fireplace. For appetizers we ordered a platter with slices of ham, cheese, patê, green olives and bread. Plus foie gras for each of us. Of the vast wine selection we picked Caymus Cabernet Sauvignon. Everything tasted so good and the foie gras was outstanding. To my surprise, though, they had live music which was never the case in our previous visits. I shouldn’t be calling it “music” because that would be an insult to the real music. The singer was loud and grossly out of tune. He pretty much ruined the otherwise good atmosphere. Ten minutes into our evening we requested to be moved indoors where that horrible noise was barely heard. It took about half an hour, but we were moved - a major improvement! Many thanks to the hostess for facilitating the move and our server Ian for handling the transfer. By that time we had just finished with the appetizers so we ordered the main course. Each of us ordered a different item for dinner - filet mignon, fish du jour and baked duck. Every dish was a masterpiece, an example of exquisite cuisine, for its presentation as well as taste. We brought our own custom made birthday cake shaped like a lady’s purse. Ian took care of attaching and lighting the candles. After the candles were blown, Ian very skillfully sliced it so that the facade was preserved. Overall, we had a good time. We enjoyed the food, the wine and each other’s company. I already mentioned Ian, our server, but I have to add that he truly went above and beyond the call of duty and contributed to the pleasant experience. Had not been for the awful noise the musician made, I would have called it perfect."
"Wow! Super impressed! This place offers a great indoor/outdoor dining area right on the man made lake of Desert Shores. We came and enjoyed the Lobster sandwich, Homemade Pot Pie (amazing) and we enjoyed the bread/cheese plate along with some drinks. What’s a great little gem hidden in a housing area. Can’t say enough!!!"
"Loved the outdoor patio and the service was excellent. Full bar with lots of specialty cocktails. I highly recommend the French Onion Soup and Bistro Chicken."
"My boyfriend and I had Thanksgiving dinner there last night. I can concur what the other reviewers said: One and a half hour delay to get our table, small portions and average taste. Not worth the $85 for sure. I can add that the hostess looked very stressed and even said to us just before finally seating us that she didn't see our reservation and was seating us as a "walk in". She said OpenTable makes mistakes all the time. We were so hungry by this point we just let her seat us instead of arguing. By 9pm, they were running out of some desserts and had to substitute (our reservation was for 6:30 btw). Overall, we left still feeling like we had a "kids meal" instead of a Thanksgiving dinner. The wait staff and bartender were very nice! So I wanted to thank them. I think the real problem is with the owner/management for over booking and then penalizing people if they wanted to cancel. If you're 90 minutes behind on seating people.....they should get a FREE meal or at least comp them some wine or extra appetizers! Nothing offered, so here we are left to warn people and damage their reputation. So sad."
