"I went here just gotta say hands down The best I have ever gone to and it inspired me to join the United States Army"
"Change my life and made me a true leader. I owe a lot to this program"
"I attended the General Colin L. Powell Leadership Academy in 2018-2019 and while I only spent one year there, I can assure you that the instructors for the JROTC program are motivated and hardworking. They're constantly working to provide opportunities for self development and plenty of career field trips. The program also provides good class sizes and allows for a friendship to be formed between the cadets if allowed can be a wonderful experience. In addition to the possibility hardworking cadets can be promoted for their handwork is refreshing. But sometimes a less then qualified person can sneak in. Things that need to be kept in mind, the program is very small and thus has a lot less resources then much larger JROTC programs in the twin cities areas. However the instructors manage to do a great job using their limited resources to provide a good experience. Also the food provided by MTCS (The middle school/high school outside of the program) is at best mediocre and at worst disgusting. I highly recommend packing your own lunch or snacks just because of the food. But the teachers are really decent so that often makes up for it. I had a wonderful freshmen year here at CPLA and It helped develop me into the person I am now. The program has possibility to change you in a positive way if you let it."
