"The phlebotomy program was only supposed to take 12 weeks, but ended up taking 15 weeks due to unnecessary winter breaks. These wioa programs are supposed to be short term , not take an extra month to complete!"
"I love TOKODA school. I was there for almost a year but due to my work and my kids vacation I had to stop going but I really miss all the staff from there. My matt teacher Mary and my reading teacher Kelly were my heroes. I'm hoping to come back again when my kids goes back to school because I really love this place. I miss my friends, Karmela, luie, Jessica and many more."
"I thought i already posted this review, but I'll post it again. I completed a phlebotomy and medical assistant class here in March 2023, and didn't get my certificate until July 2023 because the director is literally unreachable. She’s literally out of office or doesn’t pick up the phone or return calls or emails when she IS in office. I showed up to get my certificate while she was there and was met with a wait that was over an hour long. Someone else had to remake my certificate so that i can have it, and the director (Kim) never even came out to at least introduce herself or acknowledge me. I don’t know how the staff at this place get their needs met! I would recommend PPL for career training as they even pay for national testing. The only positive part about the job training here is the instructors and the class material, much love to you guys!"
"the high school was horrible , i went there for my freshman year and beginning of my sophomore . and the start of my sophomore year it went downhill . the teachers did not care about the students , i was having troubles at home so on "breaks" i would go outside and make phone calls and i remember a teacher coming outside and said to me saying they had to put me on a "contract sheet" for the usage of my phone , i explained the troubles i was having at home and i was doing all my work , getting good grades , they suspended me for a week because i did not follow the rules of the "contract" . after i came back i decided to follow the rules and not bring my phone to school ever , one day i got into an argument with one of the teachers and i had asked to make a phone call with the "students phone" and she declined my request because her class was going to start "soon" when i had 15 minutes before the class . i remember getting really upset because i could not call my social worker ( she is my guardian ) to come pick me up . so i decided to walk out of the school and go into the next building the "AIOIC" i had asked to talk to one of the bosses of the teacher and all she said was "we will talk to the teacher but that's all i can do at the moment" and because i "left without permission" when the "AIOIC" was literally next the high school , i was told that i could not come back to school that day and i was suspended for 2 days . when i returned once again the teachers were talking about the incident to students when i was told " it was confidential" they were making fun of me so i decided to go to the "AIOIC" AGAIN . i made a phone call to my social worker and she came and picked me up for 30 minutes and she dropped me back off at the school , guess what? THEY EXPELLED ME!! for "leaving school" too many times . when my social worker had made it clear she was picking me up for a bit . you failed me , the beginning of my high school year was terrible ."
"Takoda Institute is a wonderful place to learn and get ready for your future! They offer small class sizes and the faculty treats you like a part of the family."
