Cedar Riverside Adult Education Collaborative (CRAEC)

Cedar Riverside Adult Education Collaborative (CRAEC) is a school located at 1515 South 4th Street in Minneapolis, Minnesota, United States. The institution offers free ESL classes, Math Tutorial, Citizenship Tutorial, and Computer Training. With a focus on providing the necessary skills and support for adult learners to pursue education and employment goals, CRAEC serves over 400 students, the majority of whom are recent immigrants or refugees from East Africa. The institution offers a range of English language learning courses for adults of all levels, as well as Citizenship classes, Computer Literacy classes, Math Tutorial, and Job Readiness classes. Volunteers play a crucial role in providing additional assistance in the classroom and helping students advance more quickly in their English language learning. CRAEC aims to promote literacy and increase literacy among adult learners from diverse cultural backgrounds. By volunteering at CRAEC, individuals have the opportunity to learn about different cultures, help their neighbors, and support someone in building a new life in the U.S. With a welcoming classroom environment and highly-qualified teachers, CRAEC ensures that English language learners acquire the skills and knowledge they need to succeed in their communities. Additionally, partner organizations and agencies housed in the Brian Coyle Community Center and the new Opportunity Center provide students with access to essential services while pursuing their educational goals.
