Reviews of Children's Learning Adventure
"I had the pleasure of entrusting my child to CLA. Explorer 3 (3yo) class under Ms. Darlene is exceptional. I appreciate Ms. Darlene’s dedication and passion to creating a nurturing environment where children thrive. It is evident in every interaction with my daughter. From engaging activities to personalized attention, Ms. Darlene goes above and beyond to ensure each child feels valued and supported. She has a positive attitude and has incredible patience. Her class is not just a class but a sanctuary of learning and creativity. Also, I appreciate that their front desk personnel is friendly and always smiling. It gives a pleasant impression. Furthermore, they never fail to greet us in the morning when we drop off our daughter and in the afternoon when we pick her up. Kudos!"
"Today during lunch, my child asked for utensils and was told by the teacher (!) that they “ran out and she just has to eat with her hands”! It was some kind of pasta dish. My five year old said it was three of them left without utensils and were forced to eat pasta scooping it into their mouths! It poses a serious health risk and it is violation of any and all sanitary norms. I asked where was teachers while they were eating and she said the teachers were walking around telling them to make bigger scoops. In which world is that acceptable? I immediately called the school and was told “they are looking into it”, then front desk lady told me it’s “he said, she said” situation and suggested my child was lying. So that’s the behaviour you can expect from Childrens Learning Adventure. I have zero expectations that they’ll actually do anything other than trying to cover up and blame kids so I'm filing formal complaint with The Nevada Division of Public and Behavioral Health's Child Care Licensing Unit tomorrow and strongly encourage parents affected by that place do the same. The place itself is extremely disorganized, endless stream of teachers that disappear before you remember their names. Once the room was so cold , all kids were shivering. I asked why the temp is so low and was told the thermostat is controlled by the head office and the teachers cannot adjust it. Another time the teacher was hiding in the corner pressed against the wall texting on her phone while kids were running and screaming unsupervised. All these things were brought up to the front desk where the ladies sweetly smile and will tell you they will look into it. Needless to say, I cannot trust them with safety of my kid."
"Pros: Flexible scheduling Cons: Misappropriation - They charge you even when not providing services for example when school is closed a week or two for Easter/Christmas and they're not busing your children, or even when the daycare itself is closed half the week for Thanksgiving. They still charge your credit card the full week(s). Shady, shameless and unscrupulous."
"I am deeply saddened to share my heartbreaking experience with CLA. Despite my initial hopes for improvement, I can no longer trust this daycare center with my children. The level of disorganization, inconsistency, and unexplained incidents has left me with no other choice. The constant rotation of new staff members within a short period since my children joined in May has raised concerns. From not properly feeding my child to the unexplained fabrications on daily reports, my trust has been shattered. The daily report sheets frequently contained blatant lies, and the explanations provided were often unsatisfactory, ranging from "I was at lunch" to "I wasn't in there at the time." The lack of communication and coordination between teachers is a major issue. Children are passed along with no clear direction, leaving parents like me worried about their care. One of my primary concerns is the ever-changing roster of teachers in my daughter's class, making it difficult to provide the continuity of care she requires due to her autism. Teachers seem to come and go as they please, resulting in frequent call-outs and even resignations. As a result, I can never get a clear answer about my child's day. CLA's focus on quantity over quality, both in terms of teachers and children enrolled, is causing immense stress and burnout among the staff. Incidents like my child being left sleeping for four hours despite their record showing otherwise or being left in soiled diapers highlight the inadequate care provided. Additionally, there was a disturbing incident involving an unexplained bruise on my child's face. The teachers noticed it at 4 p.m. but failed to inform me until I picked her up at 6:30 p.m., asking if I believed she had caused the bruise herself by holding her cheeks, which seems highly implausible. A critical concern is the unsanitary practices observed, such as changing my child's diaper without gloves and the presence of another child's feces in my child's diaper, which was initially denied by the staff. Incidents like these are not only unprofessional but also a severe breach of hygiene standards. Furthermore, a lack of supervision has led to dangerous situations, like a child wielding scissors, and teachers being oblivious to the risk. I wish to highlight that there are some exceptional teachers at CLA, but regrettably, their efforts are overshadowed by the pervasive issues within the center. The high teacher turnover rate is a testament to the challenges they face. In light of these concerns, I can no longer trust CLA with my children's well-being, and I urge other parents to consider their options carefully. The welfare and safety of our children should always be the top priority, and unfortunately, I no longer believe CLA can provide that. This review comes from a place of deep disappointment and a sincere hope for improvements in childcare standards and practices. As a parent, it is my responsibility to ensure my children are in a safe and nurturing environment, and CLA has failed to meet these essential criteria. The incidents I've described are just a fraction of the numerous problems I've encountered during my time with CLA. The lack of accountability, transparency, and basic childcare practices is a grave concern, and I hope my feedback serves as a wake-up call for necessary changes."
"We’ve had the pleasure of being there for a couple of years and we honestly couldn’t have asked for a better establishment to help our son grow. He was always excited to wake up and go there. The staff truly care about your child. Mrs.Janet is the best there is to prepare your child for school! Hoping to return with our youngest."
