"I enjoy going to see my grandson play hockey at the BIG. I would enjoy it even more if there were fewer stairs to get to seats, especially rink 2. Persons who have a difficulty with stairs, but not wheelchair bound, could use some type of rink side seat, so one could sit and not have to stand for the whole game."

"We make it to the Ice Garden only about once a year for an open skating session. Open skating is offered on random days during the week for do-able fee. Skate rental [both figure and hockey] is available too. I'd suggest checking their website prior to visiting for the most up-to-date information. We were there a few weeks ago for a session that was being offered free, with skate rental included. We are complete novices and had a tricky time even walking in the skates but, we made it to the ice. Thankfully, they do offer 'Skate Mates' in adult and children's sizes. These are IMMENSELY popular with those of us who are not very agile on ice skates. I did notice there were not nearly enough for the apparent demand for them though. Perhaps this was due to the session being offered free so, more folks decided to show up than would on a typical paid session? Staff was readily available at the counter and lounge area if assistance was needed. There is a also a snack bar counter that was open and very busy while we were there. It appeared to be clean and offered plenty of restrooms. After we did our best skating, we explored the Garden. There was a PeeWee hockey game going on in one of the other arenas. We watched that for a few minutes before leaving. The Ice Garden has recently been granted a new lease on life with Bloomington voters electing to add the very-much-needed repairs/upgrades to keep the complex operating at its fullest potential. It serves a large population of attendees for varying reasons...all year long. It's fantastic to know it will now continue to do so for years to come."

"Wow. I'll never return to the ice garden! I would have gone with 0 stars if that was an option!! We went to a high school game last night. There were several notices up with a QR code. When we got to the right arena, we were told that we HAD to use the QR code to pay for entry. No one would take cash or cards. The line for entry was getting longer and longer as people struggled with the lengthy QR code process. It was difficult to get a signal and people were sent back to the entrance and even outside to make their payment. I don't remember the last time that I was so frustrated! There were grandparents there who couldn't manage the process and had to give a stranger their credit card to make the transaction for them. Hello! It's all anyone could talk about as they gained entry to the game LATE! So very annoying! Wake up and get in touch with helping and welcoming people Bloomington!"

"Full service arena. Great skate sharpening and have extra supplies you can buy. Big lobby area. Good concessions. 3 sheets of ice. Rink 1- warm dont really need a jacket. Full seating bleachers on both sides. Rink 2- no bleachers. Semi warm. Stairs up to look down at the rink. Not good for physically challenged. Rink 3- bleachers but colder then the others. Blankets are nice in this rink."
