Crystal Vista

"This place is pretty amazing. There are crystals everywhere. We've gone twice and havnt made it to the top either time because we end up finding a good spot with so many good crystals. Last time we went we found a ton of smoky quartz! My kid found some blue quartz!"

"I found a piece of crystal by chance. But there are plenty of interesting rocks. The hiking uphill is not hard at all. It is just a normal uphill trail. I don’t know why some reviews say it is challenging. I appreciate the local government for keeping this public land for people interested in crystals and rock specimens."

"You gotta work for it but it was so worth it! We visited 3 different companies plus crystal vista. While the mile hike uphill was awful, the larger pieces we found were incredible. By far my favorite location as far as return on investment. Definitely not easily accessible and there's no restrooms but still so worth it."

"Picks and buckets work better than a hammer and pockets. The hike up can take a long time if you're distracted by shiny things. Entire veins await you at the top. If it looks like glass it isn't and you will lose it in your pocket."

"The hike up the hill was good and the trail is well marked. When we got up to the dig site it was well marked as well. There is a lot of cool stuff to look at and pick up just laying around but if you want to find some of the crystals you will most likely need to dig. It seems like the best tools are a protectors hammer and a small spade."
