"A TRUE HIDDEN GEM!!! WE LOVE THIS SCHOOL!!!! my daughter has been attending this school since she was 10 weeks old,(She's now 3yrs), and all the teachers, staff, and director of the school are amazing, they take the time to understand and love the child and parents needs on a case by case basis. they have helped with my daughters growth and development and have continued to encourage her learning and for her to move up into the next step rooms in a timely manner that is comfortable to my child. If there is ever a concern or issue that i want to speak about the director always has an open door policy and shares open communication at all times regarding my child. Please take the time to tour and give this school an opportunity to become apart of your family. The prices are can't be beat either!!"
"Choosing a childcare facility is always a difficult process. I immediately felt a sense of relief after just speaking on the phone to the director. While touring the facility I was almost brought to tears. Needless to say, we chose this amazing non-profit organization to help with our childcare needs. The outdoor play areas are great to allow gross motor movement for the children. They even have water features for the hot summer months. The caregivers have engaging lesson plans each week and ensure each child's individual developmental needs are met. After 7 years the staff are like family and my school aged children still love to visit their old caregivers. If you want a facility that will welcome your children and treat them as their own look no further. I can't say enough great things about the CDC and the amazing staff."
"My husband and I did a lot of research when looking for a child care facility before our son was born. As I work at UNLV, we specifically looked at all the center's in the area, and from the first moment I felt like the UUMCDC was the BEST place for our son - and now also our daughter. The staff is friendly, knowledgeable, and absolutely wonderful with children. There is very little staff-turnover, which means both you and more importantly your child, feels safe and secure going to the center and knowing who their teachers will be. They focus on learning through play and hands-on activities, they encourage their imagination, develop positive social skills, and really love and support the children. From infant age on up the kids are engaged, communicated with, interacted with and made to feel safe and special. I could not say one bad thing about my family's experiences with the Child Development Center. Oh, did I mention that the center follows the Color Me Healthy program? Snack time is a variety of food that is nutritious, well-rounded in what is served, and the kids love it! It makes me so happy to know that the healthy eating habits we teach at home are being reinforced when my kids are at the center. My son thinks fresh red peppers are "delicious," and loves to chomp his way through "trees" AKA broccoli! Part of that is us at home, but a big part is his teachers and the initiatives driven by the center director - Amy (who is amazing and so wonderful). Being a working mom, it relieved me to find a place that took such good care of my kids, after all, they are with these people 7-8 hours a day. If you are looking for a place that will engage your kids, take care of them, let them get messy and be kids, all while learning and developing, then this is the place for you! P.S. Did I mention how affordable it is? But if the price went up tomorrow I would still pay it, it is worth every penny!"
"The CDC has been a wonderful experience for my daughter. We recently moved to Las Vegas and here she found home. She gets to learn through experience, field trips, and creativity. All the teachers and staff are warm, caring, and are a big family. I appreciate the sandy and down-to-earth playground at CDC, and when I pick her up, she usually asks if she could stay longer!"
"I have three children, and all attend (or have attended) this center. My oldest attends the summer camp they offer, which gives the children lots of room for creative exploration--including making forts from cardboard boxes. My middle son attended since birth until now, at age 6--he now attends their before and after kindergarten program. He enjoys playing on the playground and the animals in the classrooms. My youngest child has also attended since birth and and loves playing dress up. The program is very child-centered and respectful to children and their families. I've always enjoyed the nature of the center, which is very much like a large extended family. I simply cannot say enough good things about the center and I've referred a number of friends there."
