"Lots of great reviews on this page, but don't overlook the bad ones. My daughter has been taking classes with this place since October. She's only had one behind the wheel so far because everything was "booked" through June. They have now cancelled her second behind the wheel for the second time and we're getting increasingly frustrated with this service. I will definitely not be referring our friends to this place. Edit: I didn't even know, but my daughter didn't even get a single lesson in. We ended up cancelling the behind the wheel and are getting a refund, which is what I would recommend for everyone who's already signed up for behind the wheel with this place."
"I have a grandchild Ann taught she was beyond our expectations compassionate caring and very helpful in the process of getting my granddaughter her license. I would refer Equip Driver Education to everybody. Thank you Ann!"
"If you're going to use Equip, I would highly recommend against using her for behind-the-wheel. She frequently cancels lessons, and demands that you teach your kid how to drive before she will do any behind-the-wheel lessons. She's quite gruff about scheduling, and when she receives any push-back, she quickly plays the victim. She says that she has gotten behind because she had COVID in May of 2021, and a couple times since, and that it has made it more difficult to catch up on her workload; yet she's still signing up new students and taking their money. We signed up with her around 9 months AFTER her illness, yet she merrily took our money and led us to believe she would have our son finished with behind-the-wheel over the summer. We had to fight tooth-and-nail to get a single hour with her over the summer, and then she kept pushing back the timeline further and further. Instead of being done in August, by the time we fired her she was telling us to book lessons spread out between September and March. If you can get a lesson, she adds on a "fuel surcharge" that she doesn't disclose at registration. If gas prices go above $4/gallon, she wants an extra $5/lesson, paid in cash before the lesson begins. She won't do any more with your child than you have done in pre-lesson practice. If your child is like my son, and is very nervous about driving, she expects you to get him/her through it. In my case, my son wouldn't go onto major roads with me, so she didn't either. After firing her and getting a pro-rated refund for the behind-the-wheel lessons we were yet to receive, we enrolled our son at "Safety and Respect" in Andover. After only one lesson with Curtis, my son overcame his fears and trepidation, and has been doing a fantastic job practicing with us ever since. The difference between Ann & Curtis was stark. If you dismiss this review and hire her anyway, be sure to keep a copy of your contract and all communications with her. You're going to need it. Make sure the fuel surcharge is in the contract before you give her any more money. Get a solid timeline in writing, including the date when lessons will be complete, and don't let her tell you she's good until your son or daughter turns 18. She'll invoke the contract the minute there's a dispute, so don't be afraid to go to the contract when she fails to meet your expectations."
"Child number 4 just completed last drive through equip and ann is amazing, respectful and professional! Children have all enjoying the class and the behind the wheel! It is wonderful to be able to have drive times after school so that my kiddos didn't have to be pulled out of school. Even a Saturday drive! Also the kids say her detail information when driving helps them to understand the ends and outs of traffic. As a multi race family I feel my children have gotten the fairest and best there is in Minnesota!"
"Ann has completed driver education with two of my kids and has done an amazing job. She is patient and explains things in great detail. Having the online option for my youngest for the classroom part was a huge bonus. If you are looking for a great company to complete your child’s behind the wheel, choose EQUIP Driver Education!"
