"Mr. Kuhn was chosen by the court to represent my aunt. He did not want her to be present at the hearing. The judge made the decision for my aunt to be present, so he could decide her abilities. When my aunt was brought to the courthouse for the hearing, I went into the room where she and Mr Kuhn were. Since she was elderly and I am a nurse, I started orienting my aunt to her surroundings. Mr. Kuhn was very short with me and told me to leave, even after I tried to explain what I was trying to do for my aunt. I could tell she was not at ease and was confused as to why she was brought there. I believe Mr. Kuhn wanted her to be disoriented, so he could make all her legal decisions. My aunt was able to correctly answer all the judges questions, even who the president was. Mr. Kuhn chose to keep my aunt's present POA and leave her in the memory unit at GRV, where there were very few other residents that could carry on a normal conversation. My aunt was put in that unit, only because she was a flight risk. We wanted to move our aunt closer to family and had arranged for a good friend to give her one on one care in a private home. To me, Mr. Kuhn did not represent my aunt's best interest."
