"When we checked in the front desk lady acted very annoyed that we were there. Our hotel room was on second floor because we had a dog but the room was very small. Barely room to walk around the bed small. We stayed on a Thursday and the price was almost $200 a night for the smallest room ever. The room being small would have been tolerable if the bed had been comfortable but it was not great either. The head bored is metal frame and old which looks cool but very uncomfortable and mattress should be better for $180 a night on a Thursday. The room had no AC that worked and no window that opened. It was really hot all night. We like it cooler when we sleep and it was almost 80 degrees all night in our room. We were going to try the restaurant for dinner but the short haired lady seemed angry that we were there so we both went somewhere else. She has no customer service skills at all. Giving 2 stars cause the ghost hunt was fun and the tour guide was a lot of fun."
"The Mizpah Hotel is our favorite stop over when traveling between Reno and Las Vegas. It has actually become more of a destination in its own right. The food in the Jack Dempsey Room is excellent and the bar in the lobby is terrific. Special kudos to Jennifer behind the bar. She is the hardest working woman in Nevada. Special thanks also to Jessie behind the front desk, who is on top of everything. The only request I would make is to bring back the morning coffee service on each floor."
"My favorite hotel and close to Death Valley. Historic hotel nicely renovated. Always good wine at the bar! Staff was pleasant and Jennifer rocked it at the bar--friendly and efficient. Food is good and appropriate for the location and price. Chef came out of the kitchen to say hello--nice touch. Minor issues in the room...could not fully turn off hot water in the sink--reported to front desk. Hair dryer not working or at least not for me. Rm 414. I look forward to my next stay! "Good job" to owners and staff."
"Whilst we were staying in town we wanted to check out the Mizpah due to it's rich history, and it's ghosts. The food and drink were enjoyable, service was quick and the staff were friendly. One star taken off due to us getting three different answers regards the ghost tours. Suffice to say, it never happened and we are glad that we stayed at the Clown Motel further down the road where we did 2 nights of paranormal investigation."
"If you love historic hotels, then this is the place for you. Lots of love went into the restoration to keep the historical charm. I loved the claw bath tub in our room. Staff was super nice, helpful, and knowledgeable of the history. The night desk clerk (sorry, I didn't get your name) was super sweet and went out of her way to find me an extra blanket. We stayed in the Jack Dempsey suite. It's on the 2nd floor, so there was noise from the traffic on Main Street. Parking is free. The complementary breakfast was very good. There was something on the menu for everyone. We will stay here again next time we travel from Vegas to Reno."
