"Customer service here was not good. I came with a box that was labeled and packed, but I had not sealed it because I did not know whether they'd recommend adding a bit of extra packaging at the top, since it wasn't quite full, and sometimes boxes can get smashed in, when there is a lot of empty room at the top. I brought my own tape and had it ready to go, either way. Every UPS Store I have been to in the country has been helpful about answering this type of question. I'm happy to pay for additional packaging, but both of the people in the store could not be bothered for any kind of customer service or any kind of human interaction. The woman at the front desk scanned my label, without talking to me. I told her that I wasn't just trying to get it scanned in, but I'd like her advice on whether it needed additional padding or air balloons at the top. She directed me to put my box on top of some other boxes, where it would be too high for either of us to see inside, let alone for me to tape it if we decided it was okay to tape. She just scanned it without a word and gave me a receipt. I explained to her that I drove all the way here, as opposed to going to just a UPS Access Point, in order to get some interaction and to get her advice on the box. She said it was fine. She scanned it without it even being taped up or completed yet and handed me the receipt. I then needed to lift the box off of the tall pile of boxes to the table in the middle to tape it. That's fine. But then, she was immediately nowhere to be found. I wanted to show her (or anyone else) that the middle was caving in. She hadn't even looked at it when she gave me her answer. It felt like she doesn't realize that one of the reasons that UPS pays more to have people work as customer service, as opposed to just having the access points, which I'm sure is cheaper for them, is that it is the face-to-face interaction that I'm coming all the way for. It's literally what's keeping her job. If she's going to treat me the same as a machine, just scan and not say a word or be helpful, then I'd might as well go to a machine... At the same time, the customer next to me was asking the next employee there for help and was also getting treated apathetically. True, it was ten minutes to closing, but she was very polite and apologetic about it, and had her package ready to go. She wanted to mail something to a particular university, and was not 100% of the zip code. She asked them, can you tell me if that's correct, or if it registers? The guy at the counter was just super unhelpful. I couldn't hear what he said, but it looked like he was just shrugging, and she was looking a bit desperate since she had rushed to get there before closing. There were still more than five minutes to closing. I asked her, do you want me to look it up on my phone for you? She was super appreciative and apologized to them once more. We made sure the zip code was correct, and she could send her package, but I have no idea why neither employee was helping her at ALL. Then, after I helped her, I continued waiting for the employee to come back, to show her that the middle of the box was caving in and what did she think. She was like, you know what? And she just grabbed the box from me. She was like, I'm gonna just cut this and put in packaging, since you seem to need the reassurance. I told her that I didn't need the reassurance, but I was looking to get the in-person interaction and to have her actually look at the box to see if it was okay. She just grabbed the box and put in the packaging and then taped it up again. I was not passive aggressively asking her to add packaging. But I was asking for some basic assistance, like I've had at any other UPS store, and that UPS usually prides itself on! (That's why I go there instead of the post office!) Most UPS stores do try to advise you on the packaging, and that's why I pay extra for UPS! She conveyed the message that customer service is no longer what I can expect at a UPS Store. Message received."
"Closed and locked up tight during posted business hours with no note. Why bother posting business hours if you’re not going to honor them? I got an email notice to pick up my package, drove across town and they couldn’t be bothered to open for business, even 45 minutes past the posted time. Will not choose this location again there’s plenty others."
"Horrible service. Printer was broken, no one bothered to call me -- they just shrug like they can't figure anything out. Employees demonstrate total indifference to customers."
"Very convenient location near 515 bus route. Friendly and quick service!"
"During the Holiday Season this is the place to go! The Staff is kind and incredibly helpful. The store owner, Jim, went above and beyond to help us save on packaging and shipping (make sure you use your AAA discount!) But what really warmed my heart was when I was having issues with my key fob. My car wouldn't unlock. He graciously offered to take me and my friend to to get a new battery for my key fob. He soothed the frustration with sweet stories and said: "It's an adventure day!". And he was right, with a little kindness from a stranger, he changed a terrible situation into a little adventure. You changed my perspective and brought some warmth on a cold Minneapolis afternoon. Thank you for your kindness!"
