"We had been to El Vaquero a couple of years ago multiple times before the Covid hoax. We met the owner back then, and it was amazing. Food, service, the whole experience was great. We haven't been up to our cabin often over the last couple of years just due to other life priorities. We went last weekend (02/17/24), and it was not a great experience at all. 1 out of the 3 meals ordered was decent. The service was absolutely horrible. The guy serving us was completely non engaged and quite rude, to be honest. I'm not typically hard on servers. But, that dude shouldn't be in the service industry if that is his daily demeanor. Drinks were hard to come by, and we had to ask for new ones every time. The food was basically thrown on the table without so much as a comment as far as any other request or needs. Honestly, this experience wrecked my opinion of the restaurant. My family and I are disappointed cause we used to really love it."
"Excellent food for a good price. It was a bit hard to get the attention of the wait staff, they seemed to disappear into the kitchen for great lengths of time. That made the service a bit slow. The interior is funky but clean. We ate at El Vaquero twice in the week between Xmas and the new year. It was good that we eat early because there was a line out the door by normal dinner time, a very popular place. Next time we visit Arnold we will dine here again."
"So good... We had: Chicken mole poblanos; Fajitas 2 person beef; Carnitas ; Carmaronas a la plancha. Very tasty and good portion, the order feeds 6 adults and it so good, we finished everything."
"Way better than you would think. I wouldn't exactly call Arnold spoiled for choice in food options, so they're very lucky they have a place like this. Business was pretty slow when I was there. Was served quickly and the food was really good at a reasonable price. Get the enchiladas. Portion could have been a bit bigger but otherwise I was pleased."
"Decent, average Mexican food with a good amount of space inside and a nice patio with several tables. The drink options are limited, seems like they must have a pretty militia liquor license. The chicken enchilada was average, ready quickly, and the staff was decently friendly once they got around to taking my order, which took a bit. There's plenty of parking in the general area with a few other shops. The prices are very reasonable and they have a full menu of all the basics. They bring out complimentary chips and salsa before you order."
