On Time Bike Shop

"I do a ton of bike riding. 112,000 miles since I started keeping track and 45,000 miles in the last four years. I go through tires like crazy. In May of 2020, I had already had three flats for the year and not liking inconvenience, I looked for a solution. I asked the owner to put on some really good tires, tubes, and a puncture resistant liner. I specified the liner could not be metal because I had heard they can cut tubes. He installed Continental tires, new tubes, and some kind of a fabric puncture resistant liner. I have almost 11,000 flat-free miles on those tires (I have six bikes), and it looks like they have a few thousand miles left in them. That is crazy for a bike tire. I have gotten as few as 4-5000 miles on some brands. The owner's choice of products and his install have taken a lot of the grief out of biking. I shall return if these ever wear out. Edit: Aug2023 - I'm am finally taking the bike in today for major servicing, including new tires/tubes/puncture resistant liner. The tires have over 16,000 miles on them without a flat. The front tire has more miles left, but the rear tire has minimal tread. I hope the owner can replicate what he did last time."

"Had 3 broken spokes on the rear wheel of my E-bike. The worker had nothing to measure the length of the spokes and after complaining that he couldn't find anything in the shop to measure it I went to my car and found a measuring tape. He then told me that they have nothing to fit it in stock and they couldn't get any online. He referred me to call the company and site I bought the bike from. He sounded like he was unhappy working there. I called the next closest shop which was in Mounds View, brought my bike over and they fixed it no problem. They said it was a simple fix so I was left confused why this shop couldn't do it."

"Highly, highly recommend - great service. Called on the off chance my problem could be fixed. Got owner Gill on the phone right away and he suggested bringing over the stroller with the bent frame so he could take a look. He took a look, said maybe he could fix it, gave a totally reasonable price, and said either he would improve the alignment and charge me or if he couldn’t improve it, he would charge nothing. Said give him a week. He called the next day and said he made improvements and I should see what I thought. He had me test it out and wow was there a huge improvement. Paid the agreed upon price and couldn’t be happier with the result. I will be bringing our family bikes here from now on. Gill is a real guy, knows his stuff (even when it’s a stroller!), and takes a practical, no-nonsense approach."

"This is my new fav bike shop for good reasons. The owner/mechanic, Gil, is a real person and treats you as such. He is much more knowledgeable about cycling than the big box shops. I went in looking for some items for a winter project of mine and he helped me get what I needed and even offered to take a saddle off of one of his used bikes for me. Who does that? That just solidified my mind that this will be my first stop for my cycling needs from now on. And… ask him about his stunt riding videos on YouTube from the ‘80s… totally Rad!"
