"Hard to give a star rating. If I could rate the teachers separately from the corporate structure they’d easily get a 6/5. It’s so clear that the individual teachers really care about the kids in their charge. That said, endeavor schools pushes for profits too much. There were 36 kids in the preschool class my kids was in when state max is 20. Our kid was moved up to preschool and lower ratios before she was 31 months (legal minimum if parents and school are in agreement) to make room for other kids to come in and pay too. Rates were raised earlier than scheduled to “align with their other schools” with the promise they wouldn’t be raised again for 1.5 years only to raise them again a year later. They slowly stopped doing the extra things that make school fun for young kids like water days and walks. I assume because of the abnormally large class sizes. Again, I can not stress enough that our kid loved all the teachers. I never once worried about her safety. She learned a ton! Ultimately we had to leave because she was constantly overwhelmed and disregulated due to the sheer chaos of 36 3-4 year olds in a small room all day. We live in the neighborhood and if we’d had another infant they’d absolutely be on our list. But I just don’t think that the corporate pressures aligned with a good preschool experience."
"My daughter attended Step By Step - St Anthony from 4 months - 3.5 years old. All the staff are wonderful and teachers are well-qualified. I am very impressed by the amount they taught my daughter. Most importantly, I truly felt that her teachers and staff loved and cared for her every day. Would definitely recommend this center for childcare & preschool!"
"Both of our kids have been enrolled at SBS-SA for the last couple years and overall it's been a great experience! No matter how much adversity and disruption Covid has brought over of the last 18 months, Ms. Michelle and her teachers truly put the well-being of the kids before their own. The learning, socialization, and play have all been invaluable to us as parents and it shows as the kids continue to thrive through it all. The teachers have huge hearts for the sacrifice and compassion they bring to the job and we're grateful for everything they do."
"We love the Step by Step family at St Anthony!! Before our daughter was born, we toured several daycares around Northeast and Roseville and decided to try this one. It’s close to our home and Ms Michelle is very warm, friendly and a great communicator. And the teachers are engaged, observant and kind. They’ve also helped point out exciting milestones our daughter has hit. The daycare app helps us keep tabs on her naps, diaper changes and feedings too. Would recommend this daycare to any parents in the area!"
"The teachers and staff at Step by Step are fully engaged in the education and care for my children as well as being terrific communicators. The current staff is stable, and I can count on the same teachers being there for my children from day to day. Being the father of three children and having experienced four difference styles of daycare I can honestly say that the Montessori style has given my children a leg up on their education. The facilities could use a little bit of updating due to the age of the building, however it’s the quality of the people and their devotion to educating children that make this place a hidden gem."
