"Like molasses in January. The Spectacle Shoppe had been recommended by someone who had received their new glasses in 2 days. I made an appointment for January 11th and found the staff to be very helpful with selecting a new frame. The promise was that the glasses would be ready in 3 - 5 days. I called on January 24th to see if there was any progress only to be told that they would be ready "tomorrow" and that I would be called when they were ready. No call. Tomorrow never comes. January 27th I received a call that the glasses were ready. I went there only to find out that 1 lens was made correctly but that the other was just a blur so that lens was to be made again: it appears that a common term in the prescription was misunderstood. February 3rd I called: "they're out for the reflective coating, they'll be ready next week". February 8th they called to say that the glasses were ready. I am very disappointed and wonder how they ever got their "best eyewear shop in Minnesota" rating. Would I recommend the Spectacle Shoppe? Absolutely not. One star for the help in selecting the frame. Zero stars for service. While I waited I had a national retailer make me a pair of glasses with the same prescription: ready in one third of the time, half the price and no problems."

"The New Brighton Spectacle Shoppe has officially earned my patronage for my lifetime. I broke my frames (I'm utterly useless without my glasses) and they were able to get me in the same day for an eye exam. I suffer from keratoconus, so narrowing in my prescription is particularly time consuming. Despite that, the doctor was patient and extremely fastidious. The most time-consuming part of my visit was picking out my frames. The selection is downright overwhelming. However, the person helping me made the process extremely approachable, bringing me dozens of options that fell within my requirements. Most notably, recognizing the untenable state of my glasses, they cut some lenses they had on hand to my prescription so that I could leave with a functional set while they made my actual lenses. Tldr: Give these people your patronage! You won't be disappointed."

"This place is great. They have four or five times the amount of glasses out compared to other places. I believe I was told about 4,000 glasses are out at any one time. There is a good variety between conservative and fun glasses. They also have cookies, pop, water, and flowers to make the experience enjoyable. They also offered a free drink ticket next door while I waited the 30 minutes for my glasses. Everyone is very nice and helpful. Highly recommend this place."
