"Freewheel West Bank is the premier Twin City bike shop location for all things MTB suspension!"
"Very helpful and friendly staff. Sam was a great person to talk to and get advice from. Definitely recommend them to anyone who is into biking or getting into it. They might have been the only store in town that had a part I needed/wanted. Was worth every minute I was there!!"
"This store has great people who know their stuff and have been very helpful, especially (so far), Drew in service and Marcy in sales. I purchased a Verve+ 3 eBike for $3250 from the Woodbury Freewheel store. It went out the door with a lot of issues that should have been caught before handing it over to me (e.g the front disc pad housing was way out of alignment so the bike was barely ridable). I had even emailed the manager at the Woodbury store two days before picking it up to confirm they had gone over it to make sure it was ready--he assured me they had. It seems clear they had not. He was helpful in arranging for me to get my issues addressed at the store closest to my house. Anyway, it was ridable (barely), so I rode it over to the West Bank (Mpls) Freewheel store, and Drew went over it with a fine-toothed comb, even stopping several times to show me what he was doing, and so I could learn how to make certain adjustments myself. Drew was thorough, patient, and demonstrated his expertise in an impressive way. Marcy also helped me figure out some things about the accessories that came with the bike and gave me her expert opinions on new accessories I might want to consider, but suggesting I wait before purchasing them to see if I really needed them. Thanks Drew and Marcy for making my purchase go from very worrisome to very happy!! I left the store with a well tuned bicycle (how it should have been when I bought it). Edit No. 1: Just wanted to add that we were back a few weeks after our first visit to trade in an older bike and pick up a bike rack and some accessories. Our first visit was not a fluke. The experience we had was just as good this time. Chris gave us a low, but fair, price on our trade in and helped us find everything we were looking for. Five stars once again deserved. Edit No. 2: Buy, rinse, repeat! I bought another Trek Electric Bike from Freewheel two years after the first one (still have both, the first is a commuter (Verve+ 3), and the second is a mountain bike (Powerfly FS 4)). Once again, luck would have it that the size and model I wanted was in-stock at only the Woodbury store. Once again, the manager, Brian, was very helpful and good natured, but I left the store with a bike that had several issues that I wasn't aware of until after I'd taken it out for a longer ride on a single track trail (I took it out at the Woodbury store for a few short spins for sizing and accessories). After discovering several issues, the very next day I took it to the store closer to my house, the West Bank Freewheel bike store on So. 6th Street, and again, the mechanic who inspected it found an overly tensioned cable to the derailleur, which was causing the bike to jump gears (something that happened several times on my first real ride), he also checked the electric motor firmware and discovered that it needed to be upgraded. The bike functioned considerably better on the way home. These are certainly issues that should be caught on any bike, but this is a $4,000 bike and they had nearly a week to go over it thoroughly before I came to pick it up. My wife (who was with me at both stores) said she wished I'd just picked it up from the Woodbury store, put it on my bike rack and brought it directly to the West Bank store. I couldn't agree more. It's hard to not like Brian at Woodbury, and I do like him, but there is a pattern here in terms of quality of service that I can't ignore. Mostly, I am very, very happy to have such a competent and helpful group at the store near my house. I highly recommend them. I also want to give a shout out to Angry Catfish bike store, which tested my "sit bones" size which revealed the bike seat recommended at the Woodbury store was the wrong size for me. Ouch (literally)!"
"Thank you Marcy for your guidance and patience in helping me choose a bike and components. Cycling around the city, I am confident my bicycle fenders will help me be more seen when cycling in the bicycle lane. I want to also thank Tom at your Richfield location for his help as well! Very happy!"
"Excellent service, knowledgeable staff, great selection, and quality product. Freewheel is my go-to shop for all my cycling needs. I was able to order a bike they didn’t currently have in inventory and the process was painless. Highly recommend!"
