"Otten Bros. Garden Center is quite a distance for me, but it has always been worth the drive. It has been my local go-to place for years for hard-to-find and exceptional items. They have a remarkable selection of trees, shrubs, perennials, annuals, and garden accessories – all at good prices. They have a vast selection and supply of mulches, soils, pavers, and rocks! For example, after looking at three garden centers south of the river, I found that they had the Pea Rock variety that I wanted. This fall I, like many residents, lost eight trees to Ash Borer Disease. The loss was substantial to me, as I’m very much a gardener and landscaper at heart. I bought replacement trees (some B&B) from three places, starting with who is closest to me. I bought River Birch, Northern Red Oak, redbud, maple, and Elm. I really want to give Otten Brothers applause. They drove the furthest, cost the least for delivery, were in the best shape, each tree was tied securely to a wooden flat and did the most to unload each tree where I wanted them. Much less to say, they were friendly, happy people who also gave good planting advice. For at least eight years, I’ve bought rose bushes from them each spring. They’ve had the healthiest roses and the best selection of own-root and English roses. If you are looking for garden accessories, they carry quality items that I’ve never found anyone else to carry in Minnesota. Like fountains, fountain covers, trellises, garden benches, and topiary supplies. The staff are very friendly, and knowledgeable, and go out of their way to answer a question or look for an item for me. They also host several events, like the ladies' evening coming up, with fun workshops and treats. I’m grateful to have this premium shopping experience and highly recommend them."

"PLEASE READ before you buy Topsoil from Otten Bros! Unfortunately I did not physically look at the quality of their topsoil before ordering 6 yards to be delivered. I assumed the quality would not be of question. I was very wrong. This is not topsoil, it is dirt that looks like it came from a construction site or side of a freeway.(I am trying to not exaggerate.) I asked if they would come and take it back, they would not. I had to create a screen and sift every scoop of dirt. Over the 8 hours of work, I came across 4" nails, glass, wood, other debris and an absurd amount of large rocks. (I posted one of my "junk" piles from the dirt.) The smaller 1/2" rocks had to go through but I had over 13 cubic feet of larger rocks and debris. This was sold to me as quality topsoil to over-seed my lawn. I now have to work to sift further so my lawn will not be a pebble pile. Through all this, the management were not helpful in any way to resolve my problem. They offered to deliver more, but clearly I did not want more of this at my home. I am extremely dissatisfied and my neighbors, friends and strangers that walked by were also shocked to see the poor quality of dirt that was left for me to deal with. As an update, the general manager did return my call and has refunded me. I do appreciate they followed up and gave me something for my troubles. Unfortunately a month later, I have an update: as I had feared with the dirt quality, it was infested with weeds. One can argue this I guess, but the only place I have all these specific weeds is where I put the dirt. Now, many more hours have been spent pulling these weeds. By far, this issue created by the dirt has been miserable. I hope everyone heads my warning so you do not waste valuable time sifting and weeding. And, the grass is not growing fast, again, bad dirt. A horrible issue, just shocked Otten Bros would create such a problem for me. Update: Per a client feedback on the website, I was able to connect with the general manager. Chris was very helpful and offered some solutions to help get my lawn back on track. I am very appreciative of the gesture."

"We purchase two of the nicest beautiful Black Hills Spruce from Erick at Otten Bros in along Lake. Erick followed through calling us when they were available. He his super knowledgeable pleasant and totally customer oriented! Two very knowledgeable planting guys installed the two Spruce where we had two damaged trees thst needed replacing! They professionally removed the old stumps with a Bob cat after placing plywood sheets on the grass to prevent grass damage. They removed the surrounding plants and reinstalled them so you would never know there had been trees freshly planted there! They were superb! The sttachedbpictured show the quality of work by Otten Nros and the beauty of the two hand picked Black Hills Spruce! Otten Bros is superb for the best products and competent customer caring staff!
