"My review is based off my lund boat I bought from rapid I give them a 5 star but I give lund a zero from the trailer to the boat there is zero quality! I will be buying another new boat and it will not be a lund!"
"This was the second time we’ve bought a Ranger boat at Rapid Marine, but this time we had a trade-in. My husband told salesman Chris about 3-4 cosmetic problems with our 15 year old boat and we offered to bring it in so they could see. Chris said just get me pictures. So we sent pictures and Chris came back with a low-end offer for trade on the new Ranger we looked at. When the new boat was ready we brought our boat in and soon figured out they were giving the old boat a physical while we were getting introduced to our new boat, motor & equipment. Two hours later, Garret comes to us in the showroom and has a grocery list of “issues” with our boat. Most of them were the things we had told them about. Then Garret asked us why we didn’t bring the boat in earlier so they could go thru it better, and who should pay for these repairs? We were disgusted & disappointed. Chris stood there with his head down during this ambush. We told Garret this conversation should have happened before the new boat was hooked up to our truck, and what a poor display of customer service. After some back & forth, Garret suddenly said, forget it and sorry I brought it up, and walked away. We left Rapid Marine pissed about the experience. So if you trade a boat in, be careful of the dog & pony show between sales, mgmt, and you!"
"Completely missed the target! My Merc 40 Hp was cutting out and running rough. Got 3 new spark plugs, fuel filter, and replaced some wires. Told to replace my gas, as they found some water in the tank. They charged me $800. Headed up North, got the boat on the water. Motor died 8 times getting to the cabin. Called the next day and was told to add Isopropyl Alcohol into tank to remove any remaining water in the line. Ran about a half tank and the motor still was rough, wouldn’t start, then barely made it back to shore. Took the boat to a engine repair near cabin. With in minutes, the tech discovered the issue. Rapid Marine missed the burnt spark plug, fried piston, and engine block. They Did not check for compression as one cylinder had nothing, yet, they fixed it???? I called again and Rapid Marine said it’s the water in the gas, when it was an oil issue in the cylinder. Needless to say, they didn’t do a basic motor check analysis and really find the problem. The silver lining in this, is that I found someone who knows basic engine repair at reasonable price."
"I want to give Michael a big thank you, I had a kicker added to my boat this spring worked fine for awhile but then only intermittently.I brought it in and would have had to leave it. I live almost an hour away, Michael came out to have a look and found the problem immediately and fixed a loose connection."
"Bought a new boat last year with them, had a good experience and therefore we brought it back to have it winterized and stored with them. This spring I paid for the ‘spring run up.’ We brought it home and a few days later we went to lift the motor and realized the battery was dead. We put it on our charger for 9 hours and the battery wouldn’t charge. We called to complain since we paid for the spring run up. It took over a month for us to find time to drive it back the 2 hours to have them look at it. They called to tell me it was just the battery. I told them I was frustrated since I paid for the spring run up. The man on the phone denied I paid for that service. He denied it twice before he looked it up. Once he saw in the system that I had paid, he told me that it was our fault because we left the boat sitting for a month. I reiterated my story and he told me he wasn’t going to argue with me. I will be searching elsewhere for any future servicing of our boat. It’s a decent place to buy a boat from, but the service center has lost my confidence"
