"Positives: Dr. smiles a lot. Was generally friendly. Negatives: He did not do an exam, went straight into the adjustment even though we had never met. Barely talked to me about my history. Did a lot of talking, too much chit chat/small talk which made it less relaxing. Seemed awkward as if he was in a hurry to get me out of there. Didn't offer me acupuncture even though I mentioned I was interested in it. I had to ask for it. Then, did not offer me a sheet or cover during acupuncture even though the room was cold (it's Feb in MN). I had to ask for that, too. Played lousy radio music from an alarm clock, could also hear some coming from the other room. Never asked if I would like it turned down, turned off, or something. Again, I had to ask. Did not ask me about setting up another appointment. Did not ask if I wanted to come back. Did not talk to me about a treatment plan. I hesitated and chatted with him a bit before I walked out wondering if he was going to offer more treatments. Nope, he just said, take care, bye. Employee (massage therapist?) came from the back as I was leaving, would not make eye contact with me, would not smile until I looked right at her, then she forced a smile. All in all, a kind of strange, disapointing experience. I wish I could explain why they acted so awkward and reluctant toward me. If I had done something out of the ordinary to embarrass myself in front of them, then maybe, but there was nothing of consequence. My best guess is that they are uncomfortable with people "off the street", meaning people they don't already know or are connected to somehow. Well, it is a small town, so maybe."
