"We had a lunch in this place on March, 21. We lived this stylish, beautifully decorated restaurant; service was good - polite and fast. We had a lobster bisque (5 stars definitely), baked oysters with garlic and Parmesan (very good, too) and a salad of crab and citrus. The only suggestion I have about the salad - the taste would be better if to replace peanuts by pine nuts or cashews, which would match the tenderness of crab meat much better."
"We have been anticipating their opening for a while. We went there for dinner with another couple. The place is absolutely amazing, wide open spaces and very tastefully decorated. We have been to their sister restaurant 801 chop house a few times and have always had a pleasant experience, so we came here with very high expectations. Being right after Christmas, the place wasn't that busy, so we were given a high level of attention, including the GM giving us a tour of the place. The service was very friendly and efficient. As far as the food goes, my wife and another person in our party ordered the Sea Bass, which was very well prepared and perfect. I ordered the Bouillabaisse, which was a little disappointing partly, maybe my fault! I was so excited that they had that on menu that I didn't even read their description! I have an obsession with originality and authenticity of food, especially respecting the name of dishes. As far as I know, Bouillabaissse is a French seafood stew in a seafood and tomato broth fortified with saffron, in their version even though all items were perfectly cooked and tasty was in a simple seafood broth with no hint of tomato base or Saffron! Overall, I still believe they deserve 5 stars, and we will go back, but I would stay away from their Bouillabaisse!"
"Every facet of our dining experience exceeded all expectations. The restaurant itself, such a beautiful space. The staff, one word, perfection. Every dish brought to the table was more delicious than the previous. Standouts were, the Selfish Tower, Mussels, and the Hot Rock A5 Wagyu. From the appetizer courses through desert, each menu item was thoughtfully designed, expertly prepared, and beautifully presented. The wine list was both approachable and indulgent. There are other seafood restaurants in the twin cities, they now bow before 801 Fish. Long may 801 Fish reign as the best seafood restaurant in the twin cities."
"801 Fish transcends expectations. Beginning with the open floor plan and central bar, to the semi-open kitchen and hand blown glass lighting; the dining room echoes the beauty of the food. Private dining available for up to 30+ makes this a perfect location for large gatherings. General Manager Billy and Chef Lawrence have thoughtfully designed, prepared, and presented a variety of dishes that rival the best in the nation where the smallest details are highlighted and great care is shown in every plate. The ambiance and menu are coupled with knowledgeable service, a stellar wine/cocktail list, and full bar. 801 continues to set the standard for valuing customers. I feel like family each time I walk through the door. The 801 difference is in the people and their investment in your experience."
"They have valet parking for $15 or else metered street parking. Once you walk in you’re welcome with a great ambiance and a display of fresh seafood at the bar. Went there for a birthday celebration on a Wednesday evening and it was a little busy but our waitress was always there when needed. Everything on the menu was delicious which I expected since the seafood is fresh! They do have a few steak options for those that don’t eat seafood! I would go back again and try other dishes. The red snapper was so big it could easily feed 3 people!"
